As much as I love Shakespeare, I hate his most considerably famous play Romeo and Juliet. I find it inconcievable that a thirteen year old and I think Romeo is either fifteen or sixteen can, in the course of three or four days, fall in love, get married, and die for one another truly. If Shakespeare had put more time in the play I might have like it more. Moreover, how is it that some pansy (Romeo) can be in love with Roseline one minute and one sight later "I LOVEZ JOO JEWLIETTTE!" No, just no. I like Juliet's character, though. [/VENT] Anyhow, as much as I hate the play, I adore the anime all the more.
I have also been wanting to try this simple, cute style of wallpaper. I used Romeo x Juliet DVD Vol.8A by Scampi that scan to draw Romeno and Juliet's heads (sloppily, on purpose) without a tablet (my fingers hurt, because mine is gone forever). I just traced over the japanese script on the scan, and used one of my favorite Romeo and Juliet quotes, too, that summarizes the relationship between the Romeo and Juliet I like (the one's in the anime).
Overall, I think this took ermm... 8 - 10 hours (didn't keep time right), and most of it was spent trying to figure out what to do/Juliet's hair. I was lost on what to do for a background so I kept it simple. Erm, everything, again is hand done, but the only thing vectored was the tiny heart between the lips of Romeo and Juliet. And I listened to "GOD Help the Outcasts" (The Huntchback of Notre Dame) in Japanese while designing this.
I'm convinced that A Summer Night's Dream and Othello should also be adapted into anime's.
Oh yeah! This goes out to Yina for inspiring me to paint something. I'm a huge fan of her work, and you should be, too.
