Introduction:
Well after a lot of reflecting and not being able to even come up with any ideas for a wallpaper, I have finally made something that I think is pretty nice. I'll be breaking this description down just to show my work. I'm doing that cause I never do.
Inspiration:
Well I live near the ocean and am able to walk there in about 20 minutes. I went and sat near the water and was just watching the waves. It's one of my favorite things to do and I wont be able to do it for a long time cause I'll be moving the week. While looking at the waves I was thinking about this picture for some reason...and I ran home and started this.
It's not like this wallpaper was easy in any way. It wanted to be a jerk the entire time.
The title was something that came to me while making the waves. The meaning of the word, "Sultry" is, "Hot and Sexy". I looked up the word cause I had thought that I knew the meaning and wanted to make sure on it. So "Sultry Waves" Turned out to be a good title for what I felt should be seen in this wallpaper.
Description:
When most people start a wallpaper they start extracting the character. I had found a .psd file that had this character already extracted, so when I started I wanted to make the sand first. I wasn't sure what to do... I tried a few different things the thing that looked best was actually a brush made to look like grass I enlarged it and turned it on it's side and it looked great! After that I added a little noise filter to the sand to give it that sandy texture.
After the sand looked right to me I placed the girl on it. Then the color and shadow for the water had to be added. I chose a light blue to a dark Sand color so I could blend it together.
After that I started with the water itself. I started with a water ripple texture brush and after that added another layer to make the shin on the water without having to mess with the water that was not supposed to be gleaming.
When I had finished the textures in the wallpaper, sand and water, I noticed that she was just sitting on the water...so I had to fix that. I put her butt under the water and under the sand a little. Her hand was placed under the water as well and her fingers and palm were slightly placed under the sand.
Next came the waves. I didn't even think I could make waves at first... I just wasn't sure on that...but trial and error is the only way to do anything in life and I tried it. The waves ended up looking quite nice.
After I added the waves I started on the sparkles on the water, and then the glow of the shiny parts. That was easy cause I like using layer effects. After I did the sparkles I stopped and looked at it to see if it was missing something. When looking at it I was thinking about Sea Shells. I came up with an idea to put a shell in the sand and also there is a Starfish in the water under one of the waves. It's hard to see but it's there.
I really made the BG!!
