About making the wallpaper: I really wanted to give a laid back and easy going kind of feel to this, like you'll see in the anime some times, so I had to get a little creative about the presentation I gave to it. Fist order of business was definitely to change the expression of Kai's face, cuz really, in the original scan, it looked like she'd just seen some heartless bastard run over a little puppy and blithely drive off or something, it was tragic, so I changed it. Also a little of the inflections of both her and Yuri's face too. Next was the background. Originally, I tired to go with a sort of Asian style layout, but that didn't work so well, so I scrapped that and took a different tact, finally coming up with kind of a ocean/surfer kind of feel, which I really thought fit just perfectly to the characters and the scan. Last was some tinkering with the layout, color scheme, and such. I went with a more subdued color scheme, but kept the kind of soft muted golden hue throughout to keep the relaxed feel and give it sort a feel like a happy memory or a photo a little bit, while hopefully keeping the feel in the present as well and not loosing the feeling of life I wanted to portray. The end result, I hope, is that it has that easy going, day to day, living life to it's fullest one day at a time sort of feel. It's that sort of feeling I really try to aspire to having in my own life as much as possible, even though I'm not always as successful as I'd like ^_^;
