I love these three together.
Wanted to combine some of my favorite elements of the series together: the growing-up of these kids, and their innocence despite everything. You follow their friendship for over more than 10 years, which is i believe one of the reasons you sympathize so much with them. I also really like the warmth of the series (visual: sunsets etc.), especially in contrast with all the war, death en dark colours.
Cheer up! They will be together in the end, one way or another.
That's the feeling i wanted to express.
I made the images warmer by raising the yellow and red levels, about 5 layers of background, I also used color dodge option. The scans missed some parts that i redrew: big Ed's hand and Little Winry's shoe for example.
