Been away from AP for about 2 months. o_o Thanks to those who still posted on my page while i was away. I'll try and reply to them as soon as i can.I just have so many things to do. D: Lol i even have a new nickname thanks to Saku. (It's miso soup btw) xD It feels good to be back and even with a new wall. ;D Im actually a big fan of Final Fantasy, but it seems that i have'nt even made a single wall out of it. So here it is, a wall from the FF13 game. < 3 Featuring this awesomely drool-worthy bishie. xDD And homigosh! It's also partially painted too! <--still learning how to paint properly. =/ I think its quite obvious which part i painted. (hint..hint...the background) ^_^; Oh and another thing, i usually do 1680x1050 resolutions for my walls, but this one ended up being only 1440x900 because i accidently saved my psd file in this rez. T_T
Also a happy Very belated birthday to my friend Vonne. This wall's for you! ;D I finished it earlier but could'nt post it till now. Sorry for the delay. ^^; Well enjoy the eye-candy. Psst... we should hang out sometime later maybe with some of our other classmates for a little reunion or something. ;D
Walling Process:
I took the basic idea from this screenshot which i took myself from the game trailer, and mixed it in together with this scan. As you can see, the screenshot is super blurry. D: So i painted most of it. The scene is'nt exactly the same as the one in the screenshot. Well i don't think there's a need for it to be the same, so i tried something simpler with only a part of the background shown. The scan on the other hand, had only a small part of the chair/throne shown, so i decided to extend it a little (you'll know what i mean if you compare the original scan with the wall i made). Besides that, i also used the smudge tool on a low opacity and smudged all over the scan to give it a smoother look. ;D Some lighting & shading was added on next, and some specs of dust/shiny dots falling down from above was added. Lastly i did the text. Although i would usually avoid text with outer glows, i think it kinda looked ok in this one. ^^ There's also other versions of the wall with different text and the textless version.

Simple, but high quality and good focus on the bishie(must..not..drool..). Yay for dark colors! I think you did a fairly good job on painting the bg, and the tones are pretty much right. The dark and cool atmosphere is there. My only grouse (for you to improve! =p) is that the 2 poles thing on the sides of the throne are kinda..sticking out too obviously? Since the stock's 3D, the poles are kinda mismatching because it looks 2D. Maybe it would be better if you gave it a soft glow and tone down the opacity of the color instead. But heck it's already way more than what I can do, so yeah..kudos to you. :D
