Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

I vectored this off of a manga scan with lots of advice from friends in Session Zero. It's taken me several weeks & I'd say over twenty hours to achieve this. Of course, I was teaching myself Paint Shop Pro at the same time so I'm sure that slowed me down. I toyed with coloring it but have decided I really prefer the starkness of the black & white.
I had a difficult time coming up with a name for this so apologies for it's lameness.
A very powerful, simple wall - well done. It looks much better zoomed in like that - more drama and better use of space. Not sure about the check pattern would be my only thing, but I don't really have any alternative suggestions :/.
Its a very good job for your first wallpaper ^O^ especially since it was vector and ahh paint shop pro lol T_T its so hard to use so give you a thumbs up *cheers* hehe i bet you will have some wonderful works in the future if this is your first ^O^

Very simple. i never say something is too simple because i don't think something can be. it's a great image so it doesn't need too much around it. i like te checkered background near the front of his face but the blank white space on the other side looks kind of empty? maybe it's supposed to be that way? but it looks good.
I totally agree!! Even though it's just a zoomed in picture of Sano. . it's great!! Very beautiful and simple. There aren't THAT many HK Walls. . . and so new ones are ALWAYS welcome!! Espcially ones like this that zoom up on Sano. . . he he he. . .
Caught my eye immediately!! very nice wallpaper.. simple and clean! great job! good job on the vectoring.. the only weid thing i see is that he's missing the back of his neck.. it just looks a little weird to me but it works out fine! keep up the good work!

I absolutely love this final version! I like how there is no explicit line between his neck and the rest of the image. He is one with the wallpaper. He fills up most of the wall and the result is very personal. The lines are wonderfully crisp and clean. Very elegant and the lack of words on the piece contributes to it, since the focus is on him. The stark contrast of black and white seem to signify that he is reacting to a defining or revealing moment.
These character has always had a strong impression on me from the very first time I saw him, and in these wallpaper it brings out this characteristic, yet it also gives you the impression that something worrys him or saddens him, I really dont know yet it makes me like it more.
One of the things i like from the desing is that its all black and white so it maintance it self truth to the manga concept, and you did know who to manipulate the efects.
