This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Hmm...not much to say about this. Wanted to test out my new vector effects, and wanted to go with paint-brushing..so I chose this scan. ^_^ Awesome picture though, came up with lots of ideas. Ditched them ALL, and made this. :) Vectoring took pretty long, again...I can't tell which lines must be drawn on a painting like this. :S
At first, HK told me to do some crazy textures on this...I tried it, and decided the simpler the better. Then he told me the simpler the better. <_< (bye bye crazy textures)
Tried to make some painting effect, but it didn't quite work out as planned (or not?) after adding the textures. xD
As for the name, I couldn't really think of anything else, so I just put "Goddess" since she was floating on some huge lilipad in a body of water, I was guessing she had some extraodinary powers. o.O
Anyways, any comments or criticism is welcomed, as I am still new to walling. :D
This wallpaper is very good
i like how its not filled with colours but just plain, kinda sketchy looking
the over walpaper is very nice with no bad comments so ill make it a fravourite
Meth-anE thanks for this cool wallpaper :)
It looks like a hand drawing when actually it's vectored! Awesome! I love those Japanese writings or are they Chinese? Whatever I still love them and they really give an 'ancient' mood to the wall.. Deserves a +fav!
Ahhh yah, 'knees is giving you good advice :3 Simpler is usually better, especially for desktops :) Lovely lines in the vector, although there are some places that can probably be smoother and more fluid (like, her heel, some of the draping lines in her dress...) but I guess that will come with practice :) I wish that you'd drawn in more petals of the lily because right now it looks oddly flat, especially in contrast to the girl. The texture looks nice.
The thing about this wall is that on my desktop things look very... cramped. And granted my laptop is pitiful (1024x768) but the overall composition for this wall... and this is going to sound weird... feels cramped to me. Probably because the flat lily is being covered by my task bar, and the ribbon is just brushing up against the top edge of the frame... I'd suggest resizing the vector so it's smaller, and also resizing the Chinese calligraphy too, as lovely as it is (where did you find that? XD) because against the English type it just seems sort of... disproportionate. Try playing around with things a little more, I guess is my general advice. Placement is super important for simple walls :3
Wow that was probably the longest piece of advice I've ever typed out here... :3 Really, a nice job with the simplicity, and keep up the good work :)

I love the simplicity and gentle serenity that it produces.. ^_^.. very pretty with it's hand-drawn like quality...
my only thing would be that the area of the hand and foot looks a little TOO sketchy to the point where it looks jiggly and disproportionate.. so maybe if it was a bit more detailed and even ((like the face)) that would be really nice ^_^
Wow, this actually looks HAND DRAWN! Some very skilled vectors we have here! Anyways, it's beautiful. I don't have any other words to describe it. The colours and everything seem soothing in a way. Though plain in some people's eyes, it's perfect.

If it was so, it might be; and it were so, it would be; but as it isn't, it ain't. That's logic. ---Lewis Carroll
