Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
i always try to find a \"different kind\" of wall to highlight, and i found it in this one. The composition is good, the idea is unique (which we need badly these days) It used simple techniques like premade brushes, but he used it wisely, not just random strokes @_@
Hm. What can I say about this wallpaper? I've agonized over it for so long that I'm not even sure that I still see it as background anymore. It's become a part of me.
Ha. Not.
I wanted to do something really different for my first FMA wallpaper. Obviously, I can't get enough of black & white manga scans, and slightly spoiler-y ones at that. When I saw/read the fight between Lust and Roy, my reaction was nothing short of "*GLEE*". Because it was cool, and, yet again, I wanted that coolness on my desktop. Did I succeed? I hope so. I didn't expect the colours to turn out the way they did, but I'm fairly confident everything matches. Unless my monitor has betrayed me and my colour settings are all messed up, in which case... Eh heh. *sweatdrop*
So. The "decadent boxes" brushes are from Noctuidae and the pseudo-cardboard brushes are from Brush!. Lyrics are from Boney M.'s "Rasputin" and The Cat Empire's "The Rhythm." Finally, the scans are from FMA chapters 38 and 39. Woo.
This is great. Definitely different from the normal wallpaper concept that I'm used to. Gotta love Roy even if he's not my fav character. Anyway, nicely done... Keep it up. :)
Nice character extraction, and nice background. The characters just feels weird with the background, though. Other than that, no complaints here. Nice work!
Wow... It looks so stylish. There's a lot going on, but it doesn't look too busy. Of course, the theme is awesome--I loved that battle between Roy and Lust, too. Very original, especially for a FMA wall.
It's definitely different than the usual walls although something is missing in this piece.. Hmm I don't know.. Maybe a texture? =D Anyway, nice wallpaper!
It looks like a super sized icon to me. O.o I've seen a lot of LJ icons of that retro colors/pic cut-in-two style so that's why I'm saying so. The composition might not be the greatest to me: an horizontal layout could have worked very well and maybe less bothering for the eyes (the current composition lacks a focus point) but not as original as a vertical one. I'm not too fond of the checker background either. It reminds me too much of PS transparency and looks like there's something missing there. Maybe you should have chosen another kind of pattern which suits the style... like an old retro wallpaper pattern. Overall it's still a pretty good work.
Its great idea...never thought of it that well..but its too..detailed?.it doesnt shout..'look at me'
its very good closeup...but not very advertising..hahahah

but i dont agree on background texture/pattern you used on the white part...somehow makes it look messy...unless that is intentional? :)
hehe overall, great effort ^^
I like how is placen the elements in this wallpaper, it's a little ordered chaos in there...
This is done really well, in my eyes. Very abstract-ish. I like.
1) i think you can improve upon the placing of lust and Roy, maybe...i dunno, but i don't find them fitting there
that's all, i love it ^3^
its very good closeup...but not very advertising..hahahah
