Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
I did a wall with this scan before, however...that was when I first started to wall. So obviously it was crap. Anyway, I decided to make another wall with the same scan, only because it has a panda in it :]
That's the only reason why I picked this scan.
So anyway, the original scan had the dragon symbol thing in the back. I wanted to try something a little new, so I turned that symbol into something on curtains. I really had run doing the curtains.
Originally I was going to have a perspective shot, however, I found it a bit difficult. So I justs stuck in a huge door. Yeah :\ not showing much effort (I'm sorry).
I don't know how many layers I had, but I had a bunch because of all the shadows and highlights (although there aren't many highlights). O_o This wall is something kind of new, also part of my experimental process of making wallpapers.
Comments and critiques please!!
EDIT:
Yes, the door is crap and the ground is crap but the only thing that matters to me are the curtains :] I worked around them. Thank you for commenting though guys. I really appreciate all of them!
Cute! xD But the background looks a bit odd in my opinion O___o Don't know hwo to put it but it just looks a bit weird.. Overall it's a pretty great wall!

The curtain looks awesome. the floor seems a lil' out. it needs to be more 'flat' than 'vertical'. the door could be worked on a lil more but who cares since there's a panda in the wallpaper! XD *thumbs up*
I think it is really cute. Nice job with the background, though the door looks maybe a little too big? hmm I don't know maybe it's just me. Well anyways Good Work!
Anyway, the wallpaper is not bad... The main issue as the other said it'sthe floor that looks really flat. And why does it look like that? Two things: first the lighting. Depending from where the light sources are, you should have the floor being more "shadowed" either starting from the front or from the end (where the floor meets the curtains/wall), that should help giving some depth. The second thing is that I guess you applied the pattern motive on the floor by simply "filling" the floor with it, am I right? If you have PS CS2 use the Vanishing Point tool to give some perspective to the pattern, otherwise you can just use the transform/distort/etc functions to try to distort the pattern. The curtains look cool, but their outlines can be seen too clearly (I'd suggest lowering the opacity of the outlines). And the door should have outlines as well (just with low low transparency). And that's it. There would other (nitpicky) things to correct but focusing on the basic things and doing them right (perspective, depth, lighting) is already enough for people who start.
Very nice wall . . . i really don't like the shadow on the door . . . it looks a little weird . . . i think. Anyway, all the others looks very nice . . . great work. :D
Oooo... i love the panda scan.. so cuteeee... if the background was different, i would totally love this one absolutely, but it does look kinda funny. hahaha.. but i love the panda scan. too cutee

Great scan/vector. Good job on the curtains, but they may be a bit bright. The door and carpet seem a bit flat, but don't stand out too much. Good work.
Nice wallpaper, the combination of white and dark red is too much contrast for me. The light makes the yellow door too bright for a red-white wall. Anyway is a good job and good background.
