This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
I got the scan here, but it was in two pieces. Unforunately, they do not fit together perfectly! There was a gap in between the two, and I was unable to draw the missing pieces back in. What I did do was draw in the pieces and fill it with black, while darkening the rest of the scan.
Overall, I'm fairly pleased with the results. First actual attempt at a scenery wall, and using textures as well. Now that I think of it, however, the perspectives and stuff was extremely hard to do - not the smartest choice for a newbie like me... >_>
I think you can pick up from the comments the only major problem with the wall. The launch bay area that unit-01 is rising out of is so dark the edges are completely lost, and people aren't sure what's goin on. Hence the comments about the 'buildings' and 'boxes', A way to fix this would be to increase the leve of detail around the opening. For example you could put a series of softly glowing lights along the edges (like an aircraft runway).
However, since I've seen the wip I know what's going on so I must say I really really love it :-). My only complaint would be the text. I'd have preferred the unit 01 and berserker to be on the same level.
I love evangelion and eva01 it's my favourite. it looks like i got new wallpaper!
i dont know much about making wallpapers, but what how it looks, you must ve very good!
Love the fous on the eye of Unit-01. Drawn the eye to travel there.
Not too keen on the titling. Think it could have worked without it.
Lots of neutral space to organise icons on. Also, I'm very much into dark rather than bright backgrounds. Great minimalist feel, very violent, bloody and brooding.
Very dark. Really like this wallpaper of EVA01. Looks like EVA01 is getting ready to hurt someone. Dark theme really matches well with the intended concept. Keep up the good work. Great job too! Definitely one of my favorites.

Great layout and coloring. Very, very frightening. This would make for an excellent wall to use around Halloween time.
The text is a bit much, but I've seen worse. Overall, a great job.
The color blending is very well done ^^ The text also fits the image very good
