This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Nah, I don't want new ones I need these ones to break in more. But my left thumb is really hurting right where the knuckle is >.< I guess I have some bad habits on my left hand.
Finally! a NOT beck wall!
at least i gtot beck outta my system.
anyways, on to the wall at hand!
princess tutu is an anime that not enough people have watched. and the ones that have, loved. it's really different, focusing heavily on ballet to tell the story. of course, words ar eused in this as well. not all of us can interpret dance :3
it's still to this day one of my favorite animes, and i loves this scan of rue/princess claire.
it took me a while to decide on a background for it. the original image i had was REALLY small, and so i began by vectoring it, but there were parts (namly her skirt) that were SO hard to make out it just came out as a mess. thats when nat came to the rescue! she had the scan and was nice enough to let me have it as well.
so after that it was a few days of creating backgrounds and trashing them. my original idea sucked when i tried to make it.
it was finished off with text by the taters because i was just stumped on the text, and well...she rocks with it.
so thanks to nat and taters!
anyways, here's the final result. how many ravens can you find in the picture? XD
EDIT:
i completly forgot ot mention WHY she's so bright and the rest is dark x_x
think of everything as stage scenery. the trees in the front are just like...painted blac and sinc ethey are black, when the light hits her, they don't light up.
does that make any sense to anyone?
go see a ballet or a play and you'll see what i mean. i used to do sceneary for my schools plays, so it's burned in my brain x_x

Ohh Very dark and Scary.
I really like it I think the best part of the wall is the ravens in the backround, with thier red eyes. It gives it a dark sad feeling. However I dont think the scan fits well with the back beauces its too bright. So basicly it would be great if the chara was darker.
Very pretty, it really looks like she's in the dark trees. I really like the layering and the texturing, my only issue is with the blurriness, some of the tree branches just look a touch too blurry to me. Other than that, fantastic job.
Reallt unique wallie, she dressed in her nighties on a swing in a dark forest.. hmm btw is there any effects done to her cuz her hair seems abit miscoloured... anyway gd effort i like the theme too ^.^
You really know me !! Not many people watch Princess Tutu but I love it so much after I watch the anime. It is artistic ,to me.
The wallpaper really create the atmosphere like in a play but I think the swing should be a bit lighter especially the left side. The background is perfect. I like this wall.

Any tips on recreating such a backdrop?

Everything fits perfectly. Just find a way to make the trees less blurry, and you shall make me an ecstatic little teapot. X3
We have rice balls.
And takoyaki, too!
But otherwise the mood is good, and the 4 crows are so scary :D
