This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Ah well, when compared to my original idea, this one is proabbly an improvement =/ Yes...texture had to be applied again XDD
The skys is just a manipulated stock photo, but I did add some depth and lighting to it (just as candy suggested ;D). The positioning of the EVA was a bit hard to find fitting, I still find it a bit awkward...I finally decided to leave it like this for icon space =P The pyramid thing in the bg is totally made from scratch with references from boing's walls. The pyramid isn't the only thing made from scratch, the vegetation is also made purely with PS brushing =x The flying debris is also made from scratch =/ I had in mind addition of text, but no matter where I placed it, the text was always distracting; in the end, I just dumped it XD The EVA itself was pretty poor quality, so I did what I could. I prefer having it clean rather than textured, but I felt that having texture gave this wall more 'power'? *lame* Well, I tried my best not to overly texture it =/ ahhh...since winter holidays are coming, looks like I'll be able to begin walling again =.= Personally, I feel this is one of my better EVA walls =.=a

Its abit...werid for me. lol i dont know y, maybe its the texture. >_<' but i still love the concept. i admire the colors and they seem to to be really fitting in with the wallie.

Nice wallpaper . . . i like the scan althou it seems a little bit blurry to me . . . i like the background and the sky is just perfect . . . very nice colors too . . . matches with the scan. Very nice work. Thank you very much for sharing it with us. :D

It's decent, but the sky just doesn't quite fit with it. It looks like a lazy wall and that you weren't very inspired at the moment, but don't throw anything at me. I guess something abotu the sky is just bothering me, lol.

Hmm, what to say about that one.. Well, the Eva looks amazing and the shading is very well done. However, i think the background is too obviously "real life", you could have applied more effects to the clouds. Personally, i think there are too many contradicting colors in there...Green, brown, purple, red.. That additioned with the great amount of contrast makes it a little too harsh to be used as a wallpaper, in my opinion, but the image itself is wonderful. You still did a great job!

I also like how NERV is emblazed on EVA-01's shoulder plate, was it on the actual scan ?? Well either way, its cool. The clouds in the background, and everything goes togther nicely.

I like it. There's alot of action and dark ambience that give it the right vibe. The texture is a little bit revealing, but it looks pretty good none-the-less. However, I thought it would have been neat if maybe you funneled the clouds a bit behind unit-1 to complement the enormous power that's about to be unleashed (on some poor victim). Anyways, good job.
Oh wow. this looks pretty awesome. the background light giving the shine on the eva looks really nice. good idea putting the pyramid in the back. and the texture is great. good job.
