This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

I don't really have much to say about this wall. other than when I saw the original scan of the waitress Sakura, I just had to turn it into a wall x3333. Though, usually it's rare that I'd stick 2 characters from different images in one wall, this one didn't look too bad (hey, well, it's Syaoran x Sakura, gotta love putting them together lol). Overall, I think it took me at least 5 hours to do this wall. (maybe more, because I didn't do it all in one shot :P)
I guess, the whole setting overall is supposed to give you a warm fuzzy feeling, or the idea of being warm even though it's cold outside. So more of less, this was kinda supposed to be a wintery themed wall. hehe, anyway, enjoy^^

afterall, it's inside a house! well, a cafe to be exact and shaoran's
just outside, looking at the snow which has just fallen i hope
cos if it's already falling for quite long, there should be frost on the window
and shaoran would not be that urrm comfortable walking outside..
i mean, it's cold O.o and he's wearing sleevless clothes..
and a cape though.. still.. cold. ahhaha.
Though, good job on what's sakura's holding =P cookie and a cider i hope..
or maybe something warm.. ^___^

I like. The concept is really nice. I really like the interior of the cafe. You did a really good job on the inside. You could have made the outside stock image a bit shady to show how dark it was outside. It also seems a bit unusual, and I would prefer it if Syaoran was actually looking at Sakura instead of someother direction. The snow looks pretty good. Maybe you should put a faint glow to the interior to make it have that warm fireplace feeling that's not in the picture. Overall: XD
Overall, great work on the wallpaper. I like the feeling that it gives. Just one thing. Sakura looks a bit out of place. Maybe it is just me, but she looks a tad bit blurry. Maybe it's just my eyes playing tricks on me..
Not to shabby, my only complaint would be the sense of depth this wallpaper users, everything things to be floating slighty as you move farther towards the back of the bar. You might also want to add some textures and slight details to the stuff like the floors and chairs (like wood grain, etc) to give it a more anchored look. Some slight blurrying might also helps things (like making a slightly blurred low opacity overlay copy of the BG), and the character standing outside should look alsight blurry and difused (because of the glass). Overall it's a good wallpaper, it just needs a touch more work to be truly excellent.
I'm with redxxii on this one. I really like the layout and design of this piece, but it seems like it does need some perspective work on it. Maybe just some focal blurring might help (such as bluring the character outside a bit). Adding a little more "glass" effect might help as well. The only other thing I noticed was a bit of jaggys on the right edge of the glass sakura is holding. Nothing major at all though. Good job on the placement of sakura as she does fit in with the background pretty well (some foreground character placements don't quite tie into the backgrounds). Overall, I think it's an excellent wallpaper and maybe just a few touchups will make it even better.
Nope EarlyDays, your eyes are not playing tricks on you, Sakura is a bit out of place. It is as what redxxii said, the sense of depth in this wallpaper is slightly off, that's why it looks a little weird. Also the direction of the shadows cast by the chairs are wrong, especially the one in front of the window, they do not fit the lighting coming from the 2 lamps on the wall.
I dare not say that Syaoran should be slightly darker for realism sake because it won't make the wallpaper look nice, but the window should give off a bit of reflection, especially the portion nearest to the wall lamp, because the interior is suppose to be brighter than the exterior. (snowy winter nights are really dark...) It's a bit difficult to do, but it would give the impression of a closed glass window and not an open window.
Other then that, this is a pretty nice wallpaper. Keep up the good work! ^_^
I find this wallpaper extremely cute. I love the way you combined the two images that seem unrelated into something that is related. Besides, Sakura as a waitress is cute! ^-^v Great job! 5 out of 5 stars.
