This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
- Fixed jpeg compression quality issues, blurred out the rought look on the moon, removed the white border, fixed the text (still suffering from a chronic lack of decent Linux fonts) and made the fog look a little better.
Here's my present to all of you! Perfect to wreck the Xmas mood ^_^! Just kidding! Sorry if it's slightly messy, I was in a rush to finish this for the end of Christmas day. Beautfiul scan found on the Snow gallery ( http://www.animepaper.net/scans/Snow/entry38081/ ). I was a bit lucky to get this nice effect on the background. I used a "soft light" layer for the trees, on a snowy background. The foreground fog is just some cloud brushes with a large blur on them.
This wallpaper is for my new friend Laurette. I'm teaching her to make anime wallpapers. Wish her luck everyone. She wants to be as good as me, so it shouldn't be too difficult to bring her up to that sort of level I guess ^_^!
Anyway, enjoy. Leave a comment - make my wallpapers better!
I love the elegance and style of this wallpaper. Living in Canada I know a lot about winter, and if it always looked this good, we wouldn't complain so much. ^-^
OMG! WHAT A CUTENESS & WONDERFULL WALLPAPER!! an excellent background, wonderful art, excellent combination of the colors, but the font of the up-left part of the wallpaper can be better. But its a wonderfull wallpaper! Excellent work!

Nice one! That's not my favorite style, but I must admit you work hardly to do something like it. Asusal, I analyse:
-I think your most success in this wall is the fire, generally very difficult to do
-The eclipse is well-done. I wonder which card you talk about... Anyway, it's wonderful
-The clouds are superb
-Black grass and trees add a dramatic atmosphere to the scene (which is sad yet).
-Really good extraction
-I just think the stars (in blue) are too much different from the whole because of the color
-I congratulate you for the idea to highlight the title (if I were you, I think I just write the title with a white stroke ^_^), it keeps the concordance of the whole wall
That's why I give you my fav! Congratulation again!
