This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
What can I say but beautiful. Belldandy is awesome. I like how the background sort of looks like wings. Excellent and simple background. works well together.
O.O Dang. Belldandy is such a *nice* character, but you get an image like this and all of a sudden your brain goes a whole 'nother direction...

It's quite unfortunate that the image isn't as sharply focussed as the background; I'm assuming that was probably a side effect of making the image larger than it was?
Also, the odd swirly "wings" effect in the background would've been more effective---in my opinion---had they actually *been* wings. Just a simple pair, same translucent effect. Right now, all the movement in the background is distracting, and because the mood of the image (Belldandy's expression, her pose) is so still and serene, it doesn't make much sense to generate movement in the background.
Plus, the purple starts to overwhelm her after a while. I would say that something more pastel would've given it an earthier, more stable effect. And because Bell's always in blue, I'd suggest shades of blue.
Composition's pretty good---it would've been interesting to off-center her and put some more text or a more "realistic" background (like trees, maybe?), but that's just a thought. I'm not sure what that'd look like, so maybe the decision to center was good.
Anyway... hope I don't come across as really critical. This is a nice wall; good job! ^^
