This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Marcella, if you're older that's just the reaction you can expect from your parents. They think it's okay for a xx-year-old to do such things but a older person should know better. That doesn't mean they love you less ;)
MarceLLa if your older then thats just the way it is.if u've done nothing wrong to ake them hate you then y would they?if your older then they know you can handle the situation
It was very clear from what I said earlier. That is concrete proof that they love her more than they wil ever love me. Hopefully they won't coz thinking of that creeps me out.
I submitted this wallpaper for a wallpaper art contest that took place a while back.
the main theme was : final act
and i tried to portray that as the end of the world theme, using rahxephon characters, mishima and ayato (who liked each other) and made a scene.
i vectored the same scan that i did when i first started vectoring, maybe 3 months back. back then i did not vector in the outlines and it didnt look that great. so i re vectored the whole thing, including outlines and i think it looks better.
really liked this scan of her cause it has a strong emotional appeal to it and i used that for the main theme of the wall.
also vectored: birds, feathers (from original scan but re positioned) buildings, first layered clouds, ayato (from a screenshot from the anime), phone lines
the quote in german (translated by chibikko) reads in english
"In the darkness, a candle shines its Brightest" to infuse that extra feeling of tiny hope in a scene that appears to have none.
(the english translation is actually overlayed very lightly around the german)
Ahh, I knew this looked familiar to your previous works. I agree, its a much cleaner looking vector now that the outline is done as a shape. I really like everything in this wall, although the left top corner seems a little empty it doesn't bother the concept. The only thing I don't really like is Ayato...the quality of this image just doesn't live up to the rest of the wall, other than that great job

Wow! So lovely!
I think you did great on capturing your concept of being torn apart or the end of the world.
The vectors fits nicely in the wall, but i think Ayato looks a bit too small, but that's just my opinion.
Wonderful job on the wall and fave+
:) :) :)
Oh so that's what the quote means! I like it!^^ The wallpaper is so nice. In the bg it shows the negative things (not including the guy. lol) and you brought forward the positive things. The represented the quote very well! ^-^v nice job!

Hm... What a wonderful Rahxephon wall. This wall is really great, the characters, the background, the composition... What can I tell more? I'm just amazed...
And you said you put this to a contest? I bet you'll win (and I hope so...). Good luck !!
Awesome wallpaper. A character in both the foreground and background really give it depth, and the smoke rising gives a sense of anticipation something has, is, and will occur. Very cool.
