This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Well no one appreciates the classics anymore… Anywayz, the second I saw this scan about a month ago, I fell in love with it (Nooo... Actually I fell in love with Char/Quattro again…) and wanted to wall it but lacked the skill and enthusiasm to do so. About a week ago I picked it up again and basically doodled and played around with the smudge tool and decided to make the entire wall out of smudging… But since I suck, none of that really happened too well… I wanted to keep this wall texture/pattern/brush/filter free and so... This is what happens... -_- (The stuff in the background is actually the summary of the series overlapped itself flipped 90 degrees...)
Blah I’d like to thank my friends Sujin and Nina for giving tips on how to shadow, as I had to redo parts of the original scan, as well as metalmallow and xcf33 for their comments and listening to my complaints on how Elmer’s Glue isn’t a sufficient source of enlightenment, and those in Session Zero for even replying to my cry for help knowing what a spaz I am…
Also in the creation of this wall, I realized what a crappy symbol the AEUG had… But I’ll save that for the next project…
Ah well I tried… *sobs* Full view to fully appreciate the sunrise/sunset effect ^^
I like your final decision, it's a great wp! it must have been hard to choose, i kinda liked all the ones you posted in session zero, this is definitely the best though, the effects are simple but great!
The effect of the character is right and love the gama that you have chosen
the background is, also, so great!
i love this wallpaper. nice job, really
a fav
It's good. pretty nice actually. it's just that the clouds look to "stocky" to me as though they were obvious stock photos. probably using the dodge tool and a little help from smart blur would do a trick or two about it.
the floor tiles look awesome... cascading pilars are a boo though. it needs some work.
