This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
This is my attempt at doing Grayserg-like vectorwork using his tut: http://centroid.by.ru/Vmanual1.htm
haah since i dont have illustrator among other differences in just the vectoring methods, i had to sort of take a different path from his tut. im not sure how it turned out in relation but i tihnk it turned out interesting regardless. pretty much all i did here was take a cap from the show and vector it, then i shaded it trying to semi-follow his tut best i could. then i put in a highres cap of the OP for Inner Universe in the back which i darken and slightly blurred. so major props to grayserg for this one since heck, his walls are the main reason i attempted this in the first place and his vector work is seriously amazing stuff!
Oh wow this is awesome. The thing that caught me the most was the little advertisement of Billboard in eth BG. It looks preety sweet. The major looks all cool (like she always does) in this. keep it up!
Hey hey good try :D~! I can see the results. it looks pretty good, but I think you could added some more extra colour tones by yourself, to make the vector not so flat. good job anyways.
Yes another gits wall there isent alot i wish there where more^_^ yes i agree i just love that background^_^ its so cool^_^ good job keep up the good work^_^+favs^_^
Not bad...it is indeed hard to do grayserg's style of vectors. I dunno how he does it, so I'll leave the crits for him =X Honestly, this wall doesn't have to be vectored XD I feel it should be quite effective with a normal scenic background...=P Well, excellent try and still an amazing wall ;d
I glad to see this work? Ha, Its obvious.
When I wrote that tutorial, I thinked - "Serg you so crazy - no one will wants to make stuff like this..." And now, happy to see, I've mistaked :)
Your walls always has attracted my attention, I glad that this time my work was useful.

Just notice - I have no questions about technics but...

The vectoring..the vectoring, IS AMAZING!! Vector beauty in this wall!! I really love how you vectored major's lips, & her glasses!! The bg is fantastic, & also amazing!! I love the graffiti.. Awsome job!! I'll definately add this to my favs! keep up the awsome work!!
Cool scan and a nice vector. This would be a definite download if it weren't for the confusing bit in the background on the lefthand side of the wallpaper, past her head, where there's a cloudy bit with a face in it. Is that supposed to be a peeling poster or something? A surreal thought bubble? It's weird and my eye can't fit it in with the rest the way it should be able to. The rest of the background is well done, however.
