This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Nah, I don't want new ones I need these ones to break in more. But my left thumb is really hurting right where the knuckle is >.< I guess I have some bad habits on my left hand.
This is my attempt at doing Grayserg-like vectorwork using his tut: http://centroid.by.ru/Vmanual1.htm
haah since i dont have illustrator among other differences in just the vectoring methods, i had to sort of take a different path from his tut. im not sure how it turned out in relation but i tihnk it turned out interesting regardless. pretty much all i did here was take a cap from the show and vector it, then i shaded it trying to semi-follow his tut best i could. then i put in a highres cap of the OP for Inner Universe in the back which i darken and slightly blurred. so major props to grayserg for this one since heck, his walls are the main reason i attempted this in the first place and his vector work is seriously amazing stuff!
Maybe you could have added some highlights to make this style of vectoring work. Because all the image has are a base color, shadows, and very few highlights, so blurring it made it look like a messy attempt to soft shade (I should know, that's how I used to CG). ^_^; You could try adding a few more details to the scan (additional highlights, maybe some flyaway hair) and see if that works. I wouldn't really know because I don't vector. :P
I don't know why but I really like this wallpaper, it now graces my background. Some think it needs this, or that, but I think its seeming simplicity is what I like.
