This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Marcella, if you're older that's just the reaction you can expect from your parents. They think it's okay for a xx-year-old to do such things but a older person should know better. That doesn't mean they love you less ;)

It was very clear from what I said earlier. That is concrete proof that they love her more than they wil ever love me. Hopefully they won't coz thinking of that creeps me out.
I know I know, "isn't that HK's wall??" well no..actually it isnt :p although the hasty bastard(:p) beat me to the precious BECK scan, it was an inevitable fact that I would wall it eventually as well...simply because its the only BECK scan which actually depicts a minor slice of what BECK really is about. Anyways, on to the wall; Im currently working on a computer which uses a primitive resolution of 1444x900, so I decided to make this scan into a wide screen wall, this is by all means the first wallpaper which I make to fit MY and only MY visual preferences, because BECK is one of my all time favs, I hope those of you who share my ancient resolution enjoy it as much as me. It does seem like a fairly simple scan clean up and texture slapped wall, but theres a little more to it, I felt that the character's clothing didn't enlight their presonalities very well, so I gave them shirts of bands I currently listen to, adore and would prefer they wore :3 all of this i did by vectoring, also..not as major of a change, but a bit noticable, changed the clothing color to a more darker one. Also, I changed the car's license plate to resemble that of an NJ car =] I had orginally also given Ryusuke a tie but I felt this was too "greenday-ish" and didn't quite go with him so I retracted on that idea rather quickly, all of these were changes I thought would be noticable and appearance changing but would still allow the scan to keep the same careless dogday it originally displayed. Other than some major scan cleaning, minor vectoring and inspired creativity theres not much else to the simple wallpaper. Enjoy!
He band shirt idea is kinda cool, although i think i would have picked bands that really reflected their personalities in the show more. like, for koyuki, i would have done the doors, or the beatles. for taira, since they call him "the funkiest bass player" i would have given him a from a band like seven eleven, or james brown. and the others accordingly. i could really see cgiba with a beastie boys shirt.
since thats all your eally did other than add texture and text, thats all i'm really gonna comment on.
not too sure if i'm fond of the title. it reflects the series in some ways, but i think there are a lot better titles that could reflect the series way better. reflecting their ambition, or about their dream/tour in the USA, since it's pretty clear thats where they are. more specifically arizona, new mexico area. maybe even wyoming or montana.
anyways, yeah.
no real fav from me since there wasn't a whole lot done to it, and since the resolution is TOO widescreen for me (i have widescreen but not THAT widescreen xD)
This is a kickass wall...great job! I've never read BECK...so I don't really have an opinion on their shirts like the people up there ^ Pink Floyd is awesome...I really liked "Pink Floyd: Live in Pompeii"...ANYWAY back to the wallpaper, keep it up dude!
Ahaha...I forgive you. The scan was just too sexy to ignore XD It looks a tad bit grainy for me...but that has nothing to do with the wall at all =P Since I also played with this scan, I knew how horrible the quality of the scan was =X So good job incleaning it ;D

Oh! I really like this wall! Beck is awsome! and the clothing idea is very neat-o! Their clothes are a bit dark, but it's still cool. Great job on the wall and fave+
In my opinion, this wall is more appealing with more saturation and less irregularities, although this is less creative its simplicity keeps it charming, but the resolution is for the minorities
Looks sweet on my laptop's native resolution and brighter gamma. A welcome change from having to sacrifice tops &/or bottoms of 4:3 desktop images or create a stylisticly compatible area to one side.
Though it's nice it's a little too desaturated for my taste. I also agree with the fact that the t-shirts give nothing towards the character's actual tastes. Rather than doing bands you like, do bands that reflect who they are.
It seemed really similar to the other one. i'll have to decide which one to use later.

Its scenic, dramatic and comedic all at the same time. I love it. The theme is very well presented and the title just fits it so perfectly. It almost looks like a real album cover. I agree with everyone else saying that the shirt idea is very cool. It adds uniqueness to the wallpaper. The textures are very well done.
