After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!
I saw this wall where the waller vectored a chen shu fen artwork, tho this one isnt, this is a TAKESHI OKAZAKI artwork, so i thought i should try it sometime so i did (such a lovely story >.>)
anyway the pattern on her dress? almost pushed me to self mutilation lol nah it was fun to pseudo-vector trace her in PS (for them sticklers of the technicalities) the only thing i didnt vector-trace was the waves, which is awesome btw
inspiration: japanese block prints
thanks to gid for telling me most block prints have borders, and other useful ideas, and for the title of the wall =P. to boing for telling me not to duplicate to death just one crane *shakes fist* and for other stuff too. amai and flyindreams for looking and giving suggestions
PS
dont mind the lil square stamp kinda sig...i didnt know actually what i was doing but it's katakana of "ta" and "te" =P yeah supposed to be kanji but i dunno sheet
EDIT
thanks to nona for the info about the waves
"It is a woodcut and was by Katsushika Hokusai in 1831, and the name of the woodcut is: "In the Hollow of a Wave off the Coast at Kanagawa"

I'm all for traditional style walls. Excellent job with the dress (kimono?) - it really shows you took your time and put forward the best effort. The colors are lovely, and the cranes were a nice touch.
Good work! I like this traditional japanese wallpaper :) I know where the waves come, I saw the picture in the reallity on a exposure in my city :) It is a woodcut and was maybe by Katsusiga Hokusai in 1831, and the name of the woodcut is: Under the Wave of Kanagawa :)
I read one comment, and i noticed they didn't reallyr ead your description.
so ima just say...
"MARRY ME TATE!"
and fav it xD
cause you know i love it. and i love japanese block prints. they're so pretty...specially of scenary. your fake-vector (mwahahaha) is beautiful, and the kimono work is flawless.
very very nice :3
Ukiyo-e is the name for woodcut :) btw Ukiyo-e is translated into "the floating world" so I think your title fits even more ;D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukiyoe
everything looks good. Only thing is, well you probably know it but Rakkans are made with Kanjis normally, and I suggest adding "lines" somewhere to your design so it looks a bit more traditionnal XD it's not very important though lol
and umn, the kimono vector is awesome, I like the roundish design behind it too, though Hokusai's great wave looks out of place IMO. i just can't look at it without thinking it's cutout fromt he original piece and put there to fill in space D:
and well, there's a border so I'm happy
Very simple and very lovley, I like the BG a lot; the traditional elements blend perfectly with the character and her dress. Fantastic job, I'll have to add this to my favorites.
Wow this is a really amazing wall! I love everything about it! The color, style, border, vector, and the bg. Everything fits perfectly!^___^ nice job! got to add this on favs!^^ lol later!

I really don't have the time or even the insperation.
This is very good! Very clear scan and nicely blended. The effects on the back and this double-coulouring make the wall fantastic! Keep it up!
