This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
I can almost hear the whistles
Right girls...It's man boobs xD
I was going for a widescreen wall at first. I vectored this one for the first time in my life. But somehow I didn't like the clean, flawless looking of vector that much. (It wasn't flawless thanks to me anyways)
not to mention I have no experience with vector backgrounds.
SO I decided to make something out of the original artwork although the quality is seriously lacking.
I have no idea who is the artist so; if you know please let me know immedialtelly.
Well...I can guess many people are saying right now that this is not a very creative concept and the quality is lacking. But I
assure those people; this is the best with this kind of quality. I tried many different things for the bg. It's not supposed to be
a wall in the first place. Billboards, abstract, scenic...and even pop art style just didn't fit this one...or I couldn't manage I don't know.
Anyways here is the result. I am quite content with it actually. I love the dirty looking of the wall.
I cleaned up the writings and papermarks from the artwork...adjust its resolution. R-cged many parts.
There are no textures in this btw...Almost everything is handmade except that leaf shadows on the right. These are simple brushes.
Anyways...the concept is kinda simple looking but I enjoy creating this one. I ve been trying, playing and improving for quite some time.
SO this is the time I guess...since I ve done a formidable number of environmental walls. Let's see if I can manage vector walls...or not xD
I like the overall feel of this wallpaper - being grungy but not overtly - a nice balance of colors and contrast. The vectoring is awesome, and more imp[ortantly does contribute to the quality, and atmosphere of the wallpaper - a aslo think that clean and crispy vectors sometimes do make a wallpaper artificial - looking and thus less enjoyable. Great job - i'm impressed :)

the color scheme suits the overall piece
good to c you didnt overdo it with additional brushing as the overall effect you created suits it
extraction of scan is blended well into this wallie
well done
I wub you for this XD i tried walling this image several times as well and yeah its so hard to do >< you did well to complement the lack of size from the original image!
Ahh so you've finally submitted this one =3
thank you for this wonderful wallpaper =3 and thank you for the wonderful bishie >D *fufu* he looks awesome and so sexy.. yeah xDD
i love the way how you made the wall behind him.. it really looks stylish >__<
this wallpaper has kinda a sad atmosphere.. haha i know, zorro wanted to got on a date with me, but i was too busy.. >D
excellent work as always, my dear fuku-sama =D
I know you did your best working on that scan, but it still looks too blurry. And yes, vectoring this wouldn't have worked in any way since the artwork hasn't well defined shaded areas to begin with. The rest is pretty much fine, though some graffiti/drawing on the wall have a bit of a jaggy/pixelated look.
Gosh this is absolutely HOT!! *fans self before fainting*
Couldn't see the original scan but this wall is absolutely beautiful, really love it. Great colour toning, nice shadowing, nice grunge fx and brush work. And absolutely spot-on choice of scan - lolz!
Btw, what's the story behind the title?
I love your previous work too (Love Cook and Revealing Obsessions), remembered going jaw-drop when they were on front page. There's something about the way you design your walls that's very interesting which I love and totally my cuppa tea :)
Love to see more of your work in the future!
Congrats - seeya! ^.^
Hmm...not bad, someparts of the character looks good and some looks blurry. still there is some harsness you need to remove... some signs on the wall looks so fake...and yes..literarely brushed with "paint" XD but it is a nice wall, good usage of textures and mixing. good job.
Oh, my. Man-boobs aside, I just love the overall feeling the wallpaper evokes and the composition is just wonderful. This is a heck of a gorgeous wallpaper. *adds to favorite*
I must say, I've always hated the style of One Piece... but that's just damn sexy. Zoro's a pretty cool character. I like the grungey effect of this one. Been a while since we've had one and I'm starting to get tired of all the perfect pristine wallpapers showing up around here. Thank you for the refreshing wall ^^
Lol I remember this scan. If I had a thing for guys I would totally be all over this wall, but I don't. The scan seems kinda low quality, but you did do a good job with the extreme texture whoring. :) Keep up the good work Fuku.
Hehe... it would be sweet if instead of the character being the focus it was his body ^^ jk. the wall is sweet nice job with making the background fit in with the character. he completely fits in with the wall. super duper job with the text. it's sweet!
