As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!
Re-CGd/painted background mountain + cloud lines, painted in the shading (note: not smudged. I wanted to learn how to paint properly.) Also did some improvisation here and there... mostly the rock that Keiki's standing on. I'm a bigger fan of the anime's art style but I fell in love with this scan, and I re-fell in love with Juuni Kokki after I finished watching it a couple days back with cyd84, so I kinda felt compelled to make this wall, since there's a sad dearth of good Juuni Kokki walls...
Thanks bunches to Gid for being patient to color-impaired flyin and imparting many helpful painting tips (Gid, you totally rock xD) and then to crap for putting up with whiny text-impaired flyin and... yah, I'm glad that you liked it crap 'cause otherwise I would've buried this away...
Oh this is so lovely! I really suck cuz I never did finish watching Juuni Kokki. What I've seen of the scan section of it though everything is so detailed and so fantastical and your wall really uses those elements very well. It's also interesting that while most of the background color is muted the central image is so vibrant with the red of her hair and the pure white of the horse. Very beautiful job and I can't find anything that is a negative about it, fave~
Wow! awsome wall! the background is awsome! did you make that up? the scan is really cool! and nice colors! thanks for sharing! keep the work up! great job! ^_____^

A unique choice for a wallpaper, it looks so chinese yet with the fantasy unicorn type of western art blended in, I must say, this is certainly attention grabbing and a very cool choice indeed. I hope to see such work from you in the future.
On others, love the brushes and texture, the feeling is just great. In fact, this wall inspires.
I actually like the oriental feel to this and i must say the coloring and the crispness of your work is an overall plus.
but the vividness of the colors can still be further improved in my opinion. giving it a variety would probably give it a better effect.
I'll just give you the technical comments here and save the personal commentary :)
I see you softened the mountain lines to better match the scan...might be a little too soft now what with all the monotoneness of the brown...a little sad you didn't go with the additional color tinting
(I guess I like the colors from the scan a lot so I wish they were more present in the whole wall...like the red especially...)
Still...I love your paintwork on this wall...big fan of the asian nature painting style which you captured very well...really like the trees especially as a crowning touch
Glad you kept that texture...it works
Very nice like the old japanese style painting look, only minor complaint is I think it could use more color here and there... otherwise great work in going beyond the norm.
Your presentation is beautiful. Background is just nicely done, and overall feel is great. I am not feeling the scan together with the background as well. That seems to be the only thing I don't like, but the good outweighs the bad. Awesome work!
Another uniquely-original submisson from flyin... :P
There is a good amount of open space which helps add to the calmness.
It looks pretty good, there seems to be a little extra contrast in that center pillar rock (where the fog line meets the rock) than on the others, but it's not that noticable.
Look at that...number one spot! haha i dont think i really need to comment but yea as i said its indeed a really nice wall, only thing i would have done differently is a stronger contrast like i showed you.
I strike again with the apologetic commenting. I'm super sorry x 10 million thousand. I hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive me. Anyways, really nice job on the wall (even though you should be thesis-ing)
Mokona tricked fuku... xD
I was expecting that tsubasa wall and look what we have got. Great wall you have here. Quite original concep nd scan. Not my type of colors to use it as a desktop though. And about many others said. The the contrast could be stronger. But nontheless...great wall. Now...get online! xD
The perspective and composition looks great. Indeed Juuni Kokki has a very unique art style, which I've always been interested in. Just like a painting... The atmosphere is great from the setting and the colors work very well. I like how the character blends with the background and yet stands out as the main focus. Great wallpaper. You seriously did a terrific job. + fave
