As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. I'm sorry but this is some reallly good stuff, I bet most of you will agree with that fact. The whole overall composition with the scan and the bg is just incredible. The little bits of trendyness and those splashes of color really bring it all together. Let's hope to see some more awe inspring stuff from this relatively unknown person on AP.
Ah, a long awaited wallpaper from me, i got this scan like 6 months ago. Just so much goin on havent made a wall in awhile, so i decided to finally make one today while i got the anime on the dl 6_^, eya. So a cup of tea, plus some good music, and 2 cup of noodles later. The product is this.
I personally like how it turned out. I chose the title cuas its the album ive been listenin to alot lately, and this kid loosk liek hes out to beat some peeple up. o yea.
Awesome wp! i really like the colors and the layout. the arrows are abit overdone, not even sure you really needed them but that's ok. guess my only problem is that there's some artifacting.
really nicely done though. the red of his hair and cape really makes the wallpaper pop!

Oh wowies, this is a pretty awesome wallpaper. It has the mixture of abstract and realism to it. I simply love the building to the left of the character. It looks great, very smooth. The scan looks very red while the rest of the background looks colourless. Not a really big thing though, still like the overall look. Awesome work! Keep it up!
This wallpaper is nicely done with good graphic qualities. It has everything to make this wallpaper a perfect one. The scan is very strong and shows great emotions. The background is very simple, but the streets has a very special feeling that makes me feel refreshed. Very nice blend of red, gray, and white. Keep up this work and effort, sputnikxii!

Love the abstract mix of designy arrows against watercolour look background.
Also the contrast of black and white versus sprites of colours.
How nicely suited to the title - all about 'versus' and contradiction.

Haha, w00t said it all, but let's see if I can't elaborate just a bit =) To start, overall ~ really just great work with the entire piece as a whole. It definitely deserved the highlight it got; it looks beyond awesome and also something you most likely would not see around a corner any other day.
Let's start with the scan; great choice, for the first thing. Very nice extraction and you did quite a job making a background for it, but I'll get to how awesome that is later on ^.~ For now, just the wind blowing his vibrant red cape back, the way his hair flows, and all the details. Nice bringing em out as much as you have, and his pose and his posture- not to mention his expression ~ brilliant. Like I said, a great choice with the scan and also ~ the effect around the outline of the scan, I must say, as w00t had mentioned, adds a very nice touched-up trendiness and is quite likable and not so dramatized as to go into the category of trend'whori'ness. Lol. I have to point out, in exult of the scan itself, the colors are just amazing and the comparison and contrast completely and totally overwhelms the graphic mind. I'm such a sucker for details ~
The background: one word, two syllables: awesome. Like I had briefly stated earlier, a fantastic feat making a background that fit the character so much. A city setting with just the streets and the buildings and the traffic lights, even. Absolutely stunning. Love the greyish looks, and just with how the horizon line was lifted. It looks.. marvelous and just adds such a remarkable effect. Effects in the background, of course, as said, very trendy and likable- gotta love the lines and arrows, and last but not least, the text ~
Cute. It honestly reminded me of one boy against the city itself, and just pure juvenile exhilaration of what his surroundings might have to offer him. Needless to say, it gives off a very strong effect in mood and tone. Something that any good wall should do =) . Font's not too bad and I like the subtle correspondence between the lettering and other aspects of the piece.
Once again, great work, keep it up, and I'll definitely be looking forward to more. Fav
