This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
This wall came about as my target practice for learning how to trace and draw in Illustrator, given no previous experience in any of them. Always found this scan of chibi Tsuzuki and Hisoka (Yami no Matsuei) very cute, thought I'd have a go at first time vectoring with simple images to trace before attempting more ambitious ones. Well, I think in the end I know more about drawing than tracing after making all those sushis/sashimis and everything else except for the characters - lol!
This wall was heaps of fun to make, esp with the sushis/sashimis! Was torturous when I
had to stare for hours at photos of yummy looking sushis and sashimis to be able to draw them as yummy looking as possible - lol!
Thanks for everyone at Session Zero for helping me sort out the background, title placement and everything else - really appreciate your feedback! I'm happy with the way it turned out and even happier to get this wall fully done in Illustrator - which means another personal milestone for me to have learnt so much in one go as well as adding some colours to my existing wall collections :)
My goodness! How cute is that! I love the sushi train (makes me want to try some sushi, myself). This wallpaper is very colorful and eye-catching. Nice work!
Oh lookie, here it is! *views full size* Yep, the checker pattern for the missing sushi does bother me a bit. Other than that, it's a happy yummy funny wallie! XD Congrats on your first vector wall, and keep the good stuff coming.
Oh my I love this wallpaper. chibi Tsuzuki and Hisoka are always a draw. :D add to that the delicious looking sushi (excellently drawn!) and the realistic looking bamboo makes this very likeable. Even the text looks yummy. :D My favorite part is the missing sushi. I love the way you made its absence obvious with the black and white square background of the adobe program. so ingenious! Kudos for a great wall. :D
Chibi Tsuzuki and Hisoka look so cute and so kawaii!
You have done a good job, especially in the vectoring, it looks so smooth and colors are well-added,they are precisely sitable for the felling of your wall

Cute and well finished wall...very good work vectoring, like the missing sushi- photoshop joke, and the food seems *oishi*!! Colors and bg also apropiated, good work!!
Waha, i haven't commented on this paper here yet, so i'll do it now. great job, monchi ^_^
i really like the font (it kinda makes me think of rainbow brite) and the sushi, too. heck, i don't even care that i don't even like yami no matsuei. i didn't even realize that the scan was from that series; it's a lot more cheerful than the kind of gloom and doom (and angsty bishy slashiness) that i tend to associate with the series. hahaha, i might be able to sneak it on my brother's pc, even if he loathes yaoi. he'll probably never know, from the way the wallpaper looks. and he'll appreciate the sushi too. ^_^
Oh my, I just love this! I was looking for a nice wallpaper with Tsuzuki and Hisoka, so I'm happy I found this! It's so cute, and now I feel like going out for sushi XD great job!
