This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
I was going through my CDs and found that the classy cover to the Bebop remix album, Music for Freelance was just too inviting not to wall. This was just a quick trace in Illustrator (both the overhead view of Spike's Swordfish as well as a lateral view). I kept the same colors as the original and mostly the same style in the arrangement of the colored boxes, but switched the text to the left so I could fit in the lateral view of the Swordfish on the wall. In Photoshop I just added a little bit of diagonal lines for texture and to make the big blocks of color not quite so bland, and there you go.

Another great idea from you, however I think you should have maybe played with the textures more, mainly adding in some different ones to the different shapes as well as variation in their opacity. Font pick also requires a bit more effort, you just can't use impact anymore.
Man I was wondering if anyone was going make a wall on Spike's or his gangs ships, there it is. Although it's kinda plain but it's good. I'm just wonder if you're doing other ships.
This is so funny - just last weekend I did the same thing - I scanned my Bebop CD cover of the same album and was planning to trace in illustrator and make a wallpaper... I had something a little different in mind but over all similar idea...
don't know what the others are *complaining* about the so called "plainness"... it fits the image - it's more of a technical/CAD type drawing of the Swordfish II and the flat blocks of color fit it well... the color scheme fits as well... warm grey, orangie yellow and red... a nice warm color pallet... and hey that was the same as the original CD cover so who can argue with that...
nice thing (in a practical sense) is that it being large blocks of color the image won't interfere with your icons and such on your desktop...
overall I say good job.

Wow, this is soo cool. I love the contrast of themes you used. I think it looks very unique and pretty. The green designs and everything in the background of it are amazing. I love every bit of this wall. Its going in my favorites.

Everything else is top notch! Great work!
I really like it. It's something that means more to the CB fans.
