This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
@Damo: Well when I click on it to sign it in, it takes a while to load and then a message appears saying "click troubleshoot and we'll repair the problem" Doesn't tell me what the problem is after.
Well, if you want to know more then I'll be available through PM or MSN, whichever is best for you. Rather not go further into on the SB of all places. =P
The origin of this wall came from a picture I found of a teahouse. After seeing it I got the idea of making a scene where a battle ended and this came about. The character shown here is named Moriya. Thanks go out to the original pic (http://home1.stofanet.dk/cyborg-art/Billeder/Fullsize%20-%20Japanese_Teahouse.htm.) and js_blood brushes and pureanodyne_borders brushes. Hope you enjoy it.
The scan could do with some cleaning as its grains dont flow the same way as the diagnal streaks of the bg. The blood and words running down the left are a tad blurry. Hope you look out for these in your next works. ^^;
Puppychow (the other Phoenix :p) reigns supreme on advice from an artist's perspective. From a consumer perspective, I really enjoy the wallpaper and think that your ideas came together wondefully, since I am pretty blind to fine details. Seeing it on my desktop, and feeling the need to say something constructive, I wish the background/lettering was clearer. But I am aware that you sometimes have slim pickings when making these walls. I love chaotic scenes though and immediately made this my desktop. Thanks for the wall.
Pretty cool and great on changing the background to make it look like a battle has happened
what if you make the background as the entire scene instead of the black borders?

When a person combines the colors red, black and the images of a traditionally japanese room and a Samurai with his sword drawn ita all equalls one thing...a really kickass wallpaer that surly can inpress anyone whos sees this on this site.

I say the same
Even if the text is a bit "strange", the idea is very original and the picture just fine.
At the other hand, i really love the game Moriya is a great character and this pose match his personality so much (Kojiro rules).
Congratulations
A Truly Beautiful Wallpaper havent seen ones like this in a long time.
You really have the touch. Very very lovely wall with just the right amount of motion and beautiful flow... A well-made and fantastic setting to it w/ pleasantly soft and suiting colors that blend so graciously with the image itself...
the good: I love this, it looks very soft and the colors work very well together. The image is beautiful too.
the bad: I know sometimes this cant be helped, but it would be nice to have a higher resolution wallpaper or in wide-screen.
it certainly a beautiful piece of art!
ten in this rating...good job
