This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Ergo Proxy is probably my favorite show airing right now, so once I saw the original image I knew I had to wall it. I worked really hard on this wallpaper, starting off by completely recging and fixing up the character image to fix a page fold and redoing all the areas that were covered by text. As for the BG, I went and created the entire scene from scratch after finding an old photograph to use as reference. Basically, I just wanted to create a setting that was similar to the scenes in the first episode of the show; a sense of dark, moody, and gothic urban decay with lots of cold concrete, broken tiles, and pale sunlight. I spent a lot of time on this project, but I really like how it turned out; it really reminds me almost of a screen shot or scene from the show itself. I just want to thank nat for her all her help and advice on this one. Enjoy!
Wonderful wallpaper! Great job on the recging and extraction, although she does seem to be a little rough on the edges, it's still a nice looking effect.
She fits perfectly on the background and the angles are all good. But I think the colors on her stick out a little too much. Other than that, I think it's a fantastic wallpaper.

Great looking wallpaper. Lil is my favorite lady right now because of the mysterious of her character. The way the colors are makes her look great and is dark just like the anime. Great job keep up the great work :)

anyways, superb job with the reCG. i know how hard you worked on it.
my only complaint would be about the window on the left. it looks really weird, probably because the panes are so dark, even with all that light.
it looks awesome, and the reCG alone deserves some love

Wow man, this wall is very striking, I really like the subtle backdrop. I always like that gloomy foreboding feeling in certain walls and it fits perfectly. not to mention your re-cg work is fecking perfect. fav.

Wow! I really love the style of the wallpaper! The dark scan and the nice background of the old dark building work really well together! I really like how you did the scan as it looks both blurry and sharp at the same time, can't quite describe it, but it looks good!

as for the wall....I must say that the effort that went into this really payed off
the scan looks nicely cleaned and although It looks like it took a quality hit, it looks really great on the muted colors of the bg >xD
I think a shine on the floor woulda really brought out that gun in her hand >xP~
and I think the bars on the main window could use some more.....definition @_@
as for the piece as a whole, good job makin it all from scratch. that kind of effort is always appreciated....well in my books anyway >_<
