This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Another superb piece of work from the vector maestro that is Grayserg. What is even more amazing is that this piece is totally different in style and technique from what you would normally expect. The subtle brushstrokes and shading work makes it look as if the whole wallpaper was painted on a real canvas and scanned at top quality setting. A good balance of dark and bright areas and an area of contrasting red shading at perfectly placed locations lends a somewhat eerie, menacing and dark atmosphere that blends well with the overall post-apocalyptic mood that is BLAME!. Characters are as always, in typical Grayserg fashion, meticulously vectored down to the last strand of hair and leaving no details untouched. Definitely an inspiration to all wallers both old and new.
Hello everyone!
I tryed to learn some painters methods this time and...
First, ...I want to say few words to Dhias:
Dhias, thank you!
no... THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Your help was amazing (and your help still amazing and useful for me:)
This wall is my first attempt, but I'll try my best in next work of my "blame!" series.
About wallpaper,
This one is crazy mix of painting and vector elements:)
If you saw this scan... I hope, I was able to transfer that mood here...
As usual, I'll happy to see your comments.
Thanks!
Wow. you did an amazing job. the paintings look flawless. you made all ofthe effects work very nicely with each other. wow. so nice. oh, its going in my favorites too ^^
We-he-he-hell, never seen blame/red, but it owns when it does
it gives me this strange uncomfortable feeling
and that dark atmosphere is great
interesting background
wonderfully disturbing work
Absolutely gorgeous - this deserves a feature, no doubt. I hope one day I can achieve a level of painting expertise you have demonstrated here. =) Everything is extremely attractive.. the way the girl's white hair contrasts with the BG and her outfit, the warm and cool tones blending together to create a pleasant atmospheric effect, and the well-executed typography. I have no idea what's going on, but DAYUM is it good looking. +fav for sure.
Ah, very impressive work you got here. The Gothic and dark theme really got me intrigued. The characters show such sorrow and depressing emotions, as if they've lost something hard to forget. The background shows good texture and high quality. Sad mixtures of blue, black, and red. The fog just brings the whole wallpaper together as one. Keep the work and effort up! Your works never fail to astonish me.
Stunning paint job... :D It looks great... I love the dark atmosphere and the color contrasts. I've never seen anything quite like this before in an anime wall x3 It makes me want to check out Blame! I'll be looking forward to seeing the rest of the walls in the series, for sure :D
Yeah, a Blame! wallpaper~ (the net really lacks Blame! stuff). I love the softness of your wall, whereas Nihei images often give an impression of violence...
Man..how..how do you do it? how do you take a perfectly beutiful scan and make it even more amazing? this is incredible...some highlight this for christ's sake.
Another crazy one you got here, Grey. Impressive as always. A really superb combination of vectoring and painting and a lot of skills. Haven't seen Blame yet, read Noise--this thing really have the "atmosphere" and "breath" needed for this kind of wallpaper. Fantastic job!
Blame usually associates with grungy style...
