This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
This is me jumping on the vector/pop-art bandwagon.
I'd had my eye on this image of Fuu for a while, and thought it would be fun (if vectoring is ever fun) to vector her. Since I couldn't find a scan of this image, I resorted to vectoring her off another wall. The vector is large (1385x661), but I chose to do a minimalistic wall, so now she's tiny.
Originally, the idea was to do Fuu Shunpei-style: crazy shading, flower tattoes, eye-popping kimono, the works. But I thought better of it because, in the end, this is a Samurai Champloo wall, and Fuu isn't Fuu without that pink kimono. The bg, to the extent that there is a bg, was still inspired by Shunpei though. It's mostly vector brushes, with some vectoring. Played with color scheme and feathering, too.

Holy A$% Crap >D htat wall is a45 kicking!! WOW i totaly love the coloring and the vectoring is just very nice !! i like the brushes and the lines that goes from the top to her feet, and yes Fuu is tiny alright!XDXDX but i absolutly love it, god i hope it will apear in the top tday wallies?!?!?!?!
but anyway i wil add this one to my favs! (as usially)-(just kidn!!)

Awesome. I don't see anything wrong with it, and it looks great! =D Only thing it lacks is the jaw-dropping element. lol. Mmm.. great wall nonetheless. Lots of icon space and nice and clean. :)

Hey...I actually like this o.o The wall seems pretty balanced and delicate, which is great! The circles and contrast of colours are a nice addition too =P Great job ;D There could be more of an element in this wall, however. Otherwise, great composition *thumbs up* +fav
Perfect! Job well done the simple design is very pleaseing to the eyes and I couldn't of done better myself. This is a must have for all Champloo fans and its going straight to my desktop +Favs
I like this wall!! Simple, yet colorful. I like how you used many different colors yet they blend in well together. I just adore the little Fuu - she's so cute! I've enver vectored anything myself, but it looks really clean cut. Very nice:)! I also like the *swoosh* purple line across the wall - it draws your attention right onto Fuu. The small pink flower is a nice touch:) - looks and feels very much like Fuu.

I love Samurai Champloo and this wallpaper also! I like how the background is like a grey with that swirl a pretty lavender color. Fuu looks amazing, as she always does, and I love those retro bubbles you did in the background. That really brings out the flavor of the wallpaper. This is going up on my computer right now because I love it! You did a really great job =) Also adding it to favorites.
