This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
This wall caught my attention at once when i saw its thumbnail when it was submitted, the image of chise flying, suits the BG, the perpective adds up to the attraction of the wall. Text was done well too.
Fantasyx7's works is very eyecatching I look forward of seeing more
Here's a Saikano one...I know! it's only 1024x768. Gomen gomen lol. I colored the background from its original red to a darker and lonelier tone, but left Chise more colorful. Also added in some scenes and shiny floating ashes.
I like it. The glo-in-the-dark 'floating' stains are a really nice touch. And the ghost images make it look like a movie poster, but I like that. It gives meaning to Chise's expression.
Omg...lol...so many good wallpapers. I love this wall! I have only one problem, I think the fire should be done better =) Besides this, it's almost perfect.
Haven't seen Saikano wall for a long time. But now, AP's member submit a great wall again. Make me wanna see the show again. What a sad series. Really Last love song on this little planet.. Hikz...
Yes, the image of Chise flying is very fitting with the background. It brings out the loneliness, darkness and despair that she may be feeling at the moment. In other words, it's a very emotion-provoking wallpaper and I like it. It's also simple and well done. Great job!
ACK! The ghosted images don't do it for me either. I almost thought you'd constructed a city skyline beneath her but then I realised what it really was :0
Anyway without them and just the typography, her flying over a cold, featureless landscape creates a much stronger mood. So you don't need them :P Did you paint in the jet flare? I'd have made it a bit more stretched out behind her, rather than rounded. But that's a minor point...
I love the ghost images in the background. It gives more depth to the wall and tells you more about the series - which I haven't seen yet. I like how you tilt the mountains so that it's not perfectly horizontal. This wall is very nice to look at.
