This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Nah, I don't want new ones I need these ones to break in more. But my left thumb is really hurting right where the knuckle is >.< I guess I have some bad habits on my left hand.
No, i'm not doing walls very fast, it's just that it took me a while to upload my Disgaea wall last time and i was already working on this wall some time before you saw the Disgaea in the gallery. Just so you know :p
No this wall took me time, sweat, and made me scream one time or two. it's actually the one that gave me the hardest times :( maybe because it was the first time i was working on stock photo...
well all began when i remembered i was a huge fan of Bakuretsu Tenshi, and that i didn't wall on it already. then i saw this scan people used many times before, and i was then struck by lightning or something. Whatever, i thought: "WTF nobody had this idea before? Bakuten has the western spirit in it, and i didn't see one wall with a piece of "westernitude"!! ok let's get down to business"
of course i went with the scene of "the good the bad and the ugly" because... well for the legend of course :p
At first i wanted to make it just like the movie in a graveyard in the desert and all, so i took some stock photos and after 10 minutes i screamed OMFG WTF IT'S SO HARD! (first scream). Tho i decided to spent one hour more to see if i could do something at all, but i definitely dropped the idea when the headaches showed their faces. So i thought "well... let's make it in the city, after all Bakuretsu tenshi takes place in the city so well yeah i can still keep a bit of the western touch with the title and other stuff..."
So here we go for teh big city girls XD
don't ask me why the rooftop i can't remember how the idea came, but well it's pretty cool huh? Well actually before that i took on working on the characters.
first problem encountered: on the original scan, Jo isn't really looking down, so i had to change her head i found on another scan here on AP. good.
Second problem: you won't believe how hard it is to find a character on a scan that you see on side view. i had to take two different scans one for legs one for upper part of the body and play with it to have the right position. if you find out from what series and scan it comes from, you just won a drink from me. don't look too far it's here on AP.
The dead guy was originally alive and was supposed to have a head, but after a few hours of digging AP's gallery for a sideview face, words came out of my mouth they were: WTF! (second scream)
so the guy was sentenced to havee his head removed. and the wall to be blood covered.
Now the rooftop... my eyes are still bleeding. for the ground i used stock photo, yes. and for the balcony (i don't know the word in english for the stuff that ends the ground) i used grunge brushes...
i enjoyed creating the door even if it wasn't too easy... well i think i did a good job here :) there was originally a knob and a keyhole on the door, but after one WTF or two during the perspective work, i just decided to break it (when you can't do somethin' break it :p)
The city behind is a stock photo too (i forced myself to work on stock photo hehe) but eventually put it into a skyliner, i wanted to keep it quite abstract since it's not supposed to be the eyecatch of the wall, same goes for the sky.
Now the blood. MUAHAHAHAHA WICKED i definitely love working on blood and i find i do it pretty well hehe you don't need only to have good brushes, i assure you, it's work.
well since the guy is supposed to have run for his life and all i scratched him, but actually refrained on covering him with blood, i thought there was enough on the rest of the wall.
For Jo i had to erase some blood stains she had from the scan that i didn't like, to blood-spatter her myself (no it's not what you think...) i LOVE the blood i put on her boot it feels like the head really exploded hehe. and, btw, about her boot it was previously on the guy's torso, but i felt it more to put it between his legs GIRL POWER! hehe Jo that's how women should be :p
and eventually the font... i spent half an hour wondering what effect i could put or whatever, and went for this "Rodeo Style" distortion, with a grunge font. i love the stars. The variation in the sentence is my "personnal touch" :p and of course to stick with the scene lol
I also added a graph on the wall with the title of the anime + Macaroni Western i like this way of calling this anime.
i wanted to name this wall something like "free violence" or "now it's goona take hours to clean my boots" or even "guess what man. u're dead" but "Modern Remeake" rocks better huh? keep it simple, keep it simple...
wel if u've read this far (i hope you have!)l here it is. only for blood thirsty, ultra violent people of course XD ENJOY PEOPLE!
I promess next time i make a wall with flowers and birds. and no blood ;)
And thanks to Elfe-Noire43 for advices during important steps of this wall.
Woowww! It's nice dark atmosphere with blood, a blood-red sky, violence, evil humor... delisious the red-black combo cant fail
and most of all - thats one of the greatest quotes ever made
did you come up with it by yourself?
well i only think that the 'bakuretsu tenshi macarony wastern' inscription sux, but its barely legible so its not such a problem to get over it
the rest is a masterpiece
your bloody walls really hit the spot, cant wait to see your next gory delicacy
btw, all the mentioned titles are good, id even like them more than the actual title used...

bloody and nice!
I like the scan, the corpse looks very nice!
Excellente wallpaper!
1. Front is awesome.
2. Back is not so much.
I believe that the flow between the background and the foreground is pretty rough, and looks pretty awkward. Other than that, it's all good.
