This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
My boss's wife is from China and I heard in some cases they could barely understand each other, if at all, between villages... orally anyway, not sure about written.
Well I found a PS tutorial on how to make those wingy-swirly things..and I loved them so much that I made a wallpaper out of them and this HTK chick. Took like 5 hours..but it was raining today and I had nothing else to do. It's actually NOT one of my favorite ones I've made...but I still like it. Something new, right?
I guess those things ARE pretty cool. The character doesn't seem to fit really well with the background though; the colours don't match. Maybe change the hue of the background to something more yellow-orangish?
I kind of wanted it to have different hues..kind of like she's in a dream (like those swirly-things could be real hehe). But I see where you're coming from.
Wow, those things really are neat! They kind of look like birds to me. Like someone else mentioned though, the character's colors and the background's don't seem to go together that well. The character is all warm colors, and the background is all cool colors. If you made the background warmer, maybe a bit redder, it might look better.
The way those wings sort of spiral out from behind her looks really good, then starts to look more random as they span across the rest of the wall. I think this is because you have what looks like three of the same arrangements placed pretty much discretely - if they overlapped and were rotated offset to each other instead of just alternatively flipped upside-down or downside-up - it would look more cohesive and pleasantly patterned yet abstract at the same time. Does that make sense? XD I also think the wall would look a lot nicer if you used the same sort of pink and orange peachy fleshtones for the background and spiral wings, rather than contrasting purple to make the girl stand out. It'd make character and background blend but she WOULD stand out enough because she has dark hair.. and stuff >.>;
