As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

anyway yeah i've been a fan of takamichi from the first time i saw his artwork, they are the
the scans ive downloaded from somewhere were a bit grainy. So i thought to myself, retrace it tate and make it look as close as possible to the original >xD i fairly succeeded and i was so dang proud of myself i even patted myself on the back, no not really..but twas funny to imagine >.> so yeah...
since the original is done in watercolor, it's logical i should make the BG look painting-ish so i tried painting again...after ummm 8 months since my last i think ;-; xD
i looked at takamichi's works and tried to do the BG as close as possible to his style (pity there are no takamichi scans here in AP yet...)
That's definitely a nice work and I'll put it on my desktop the next moment.
I have never heard anything of "Takamichi" but his artwork indeed looks nice.
For those of you who don't know, Takamichi draws loli - but in a very POSITIVE sense, its all really beautiful art. The BG you painted looks great potatorball, I was wondering if you were going to make it super detailed like the vector but I'm glad you went with fairly simple. I much enjoy your walling frenzy, keep it up! XD
Nice clean lines and the coloring is awesom. the feet look alittle odd on the girl on the right, kinda like you didn't finish vectoring...but overall i really like your wall :)
Aha! Another great peice from teh tate! XD. Love the art its absolutely great! Probably wasnt as simple as you thought? Hehe you get used to it after awhile, its all good. Ill fav it being how nuts you are XD. And not just that because of 2 reasons:
1. Im a wall freak myself its like a routine habit LMAO!
2. Your a work of art yourself :P
Im not too crazy about the clouds or the random blurry to sharp contrast you have going on throught the whole wall, but I do love the unusual concept and how you style-ishly managed to combine vectoring and brushing into a single piece.

Lovely, tat0rs. Background looks wonderful, except in the foreground it looks a touch like the railing is blending in right with the sidewalk, so maybe a touch of color distinction at the bottom of the first railing on the left. Characters, dog, trees... pretty much everything look awesome. :D
Now i know where all my walling inspiration went...YOU STOLE IT!

and you need a damn good job with the recg if the scan. i know how hard repainting is x_x

A takamichi wall!...I recently fell in love with the art style and you did an impressive job retaining the soft painted look in your vector...I didn't even realize it wasn't an original scan until I read your description...you really channeled the style
The simple open and clean feel of the background is also very fitting with the style...I really like the lamp post for some reason :)
Definitely a great wall...the sudden shifts of blurring is a bit jarring in some areas...but overall a great presentation of a great artist

i did one with texture maybe some will like it better 1280 x 960 ==> click
and maybe some would like a 1280 x 1024
1280 x 1024 no texture ==> click
