This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
First wallpaper I've been able to bring to completion in quite a long while, and my first completed widescreen wallie. Derived from the ending credits; was attracted by the minimalism of lines and highlights on a flat bg in the original.
I'd started out trying to vector it but eventually decided this was better done manually. Arrived at the end result by screencap -> grayscale -> levels -> print -> pen-and-paper trace -> scan -> clean -> redraw -> repaint. Decided to leave it in grayscale since I felt the original purple/blue was rather gaudy. Also deliberately left some of the sketchy quality from the scanned trace for effect.
Year...Such a grey version of a wall...it is rare
I like this feel of your submission, epeciallt the lighing effects out of the window ,I can not say it clearly ,but the window, the pale room and bed, giving off a desperate atmosphere,I can see how a sick person survive...

The idea is great, the vectoring is great, but what's with this grain all over? when i looked on the thumbnail i really liked it, but if the fullsize was as sharp as the thumb i'd think of putting it on my desktop...
Whoah, this is something you dont see evryday.
All grey and white, a wallpaper of sillhoutes...niceee.
its cool alright, im cool with that.
I like it, great job.
After a long time. A wallpaper by you! ^-^
and it's really good. especially looking at what a very poor quality screencap it was. Turning it to grayscale was a neat trick. Great!
Such a high resolution... the screencap is 708x400, 0_o?
Very nice. Personally, I like the grain. I like vectors, but texture is nice too --- especially on such a wallpaper with minimal colors. I think you did excellent work --- obviously took some time and effort. Keep it up (and thanks for the widescreen!).
I love the concept this is a great paper becuase I like how you outline everything in to stuff and the use of the gray color this is different and I love.
This wallpaper caught my very eye when I saw that small thumbnail. I looks really reallly nice on my desktop now. Thank you very much. Indeed a really nice idea to use grey colour and the black outlines. I'm happy to say that you didn't include any text in it. =)
I simply love it ...
I love the skecth feelong of it ^^
It looks really great on a grey-ish bg :)
We really feel the solitude of the girl with the atmosphere you make :)
Keep it up ^^
Love how you captured the sketchy quality of the original image...the wall has a soft inky watercolor feel to it
The change of the original purple to the gray makes it seem much calmer and more soothing
Love the grainy texture you used as well
The image is perfect for this resolution...wish I could use widescreen walls :(

Have a nice day!
If religion is that which binds men to one another, and irreligion that which sunders, then must I testify that I found the religion of my country in its musical genius and its irreligion in its churches and drawing rooms.
