This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Another School Rumble wallpaper. After my first one, my interest in vectoring went up again. I decided to vector something more challenging, and so I chose this frame in the SR OP.
For the last wall, some asked, 'Why Tenma?' I've gotta say... WHY NOT TENMA? Tenma IS, after all, the main character! XD She's also really cute.
The vectoring took quite a long time. I had trouble with the hair (damn, her hair goes crazy when she twirls) and the bag. The bag was actually the hardest part, since it was cut off in the frame... I redrew it as well as I could, but it's still pretty crappy. If you're a hardcore fan, you'll notice that the bag is missing some details... but, well, too much details on the bag will draw attention away from Tenma, right? <_<
After I vectored it, I brought it into Photoshop and tried to think of a background. After a while, I decided to just go with the scene in the OP, where she is twirling around with her bag in the middle of the road (dangerous!)... After I had finished doing the road and sidewalk, the whole thing looked pretty dull. Everything was grey and grungey, which was far from what School Rumble is all about. I decided to make it more lively... so I added snow and light!
The most challenging thing doing the wallpaper was probably the snow. I never had experience doing snow at ALL, but at this angle, it was frustrating. I tried all kinds of things, and finally, I guess it looks acceptable now.
Other minor details include footprints... and pawprints too. XD
Really nice wallpaper. Thanks to the fact that you added lights and glows the wallpaper doesn't look boring at all, and it has a nice atmosphere. the snow and the footprints (and even the text) are really a nice touch. Very cool job, JTsang. :hi5:
Nice concept and vector. Tenma is so funny. She deserves to be walled. xD I really like the text you did. And I like the pretty snow and the cute little paw prints. The little things here and there are always a nice addition for me, not to mention I love paw prints. x3 Awesome, awesome job.
I LOVE this school rumble wallpaper! It has one of my favorite images of tenma! i'd really love to give constructive criticism but it's simply too perfect!
Don't force me to comment, bitch!
Anyways, nice job...seemed out it DID turn out to a pretty good wall after all the hard shit you did with vectoring =/ For me, you're still missing something, but I can't really put my finger on it...

This wall is amazing. The mood it sets with the colors just fits right in to the girl. I'm imagining her to be dancing on the street and under a streetlight. :D I've always loved walls with a different perspective especially if it's scenic because I have absolutely no idea how to make them. :) They're also very lovely to the eyes.
School Rumble's cool, but...
I don't like this wallpaper that much. The background doesn't fit the Tenma image.
The colours are a bit boring,
but all together it's great.

In an abandoned field,
Beside the tranquil water,
Under the peaceful sky,
Is where I'll wait for you...
and the bg suits the scan
great work
