This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Marcella, if you're older that's just the reaction you can expect from your parents. They think it's okay for a xx-year-old to do such things but a older person should know better. That doesn't mean they love you less ;)
MarceLLa if your older then thats just the way it is.if u've done nothing wrong to ake them hate you then y would they?if your older then they know you can handle the situation
It was very clear from what I said earlier. That is concrete proof that they love her more than they wil ever love me. Hopefully they won't coz thinking of that creeps me out.
Before i begin the comment of my wall, i have something to confess. I always loved christian crosses. Even though i'm an atheist, i love this symbol, it reeks with strenght and power, like no other one. Don't misunderstand me, i'm no fu***in' goth freak, i just love crosses. Ok i said it.
So... i had this french comic for a long time, with this huge cross that i scanned and kept preciously for when i would find the right scan :p i was roaming around AP's gallery when i saw this scan of Joe, and the idea came...
I began this wall with a title in mind: Crossfire. Jo is making what you call a crossfire, i had a cross to use, and i never did a full fire BG before... and i love lousy puns. So here we go huh?
I began with a re-CG of the cross, that was having some borders missing.
Then i went for the fire BG, thanks nat for your tutorial, that i enhanced for my needs tho :p well the fire was a real bitch to make, and i tried many way of doing it, before coming back to the first i made: nat's one o_o
now the real big part of this wall: Jo's scan and what is around. you can see the scan HERE
i had to re-colorize the whole scan in tones that were fitting my wall, and that was a pain in the a** it still hurts.
i re-CGed a lil part of the legs and the holster to hide it afterwards with flames :p i love useles work hehe
i created the bullet cases quickly but they look good i think.
i couldn't figure out how to do a good fire burst for the guns, and once again, i clicked the wrong button and said "either i'm completely stupid either i'm a genius. i like the second answer more"
and the painfull stuff in this already painfull work: the tatoo. 100% HANDMADE!
as you can see in the scan, her arm is naked. I drew inspiration in the tatoo she has in the anime and in the one i have on my arm, and the mix looks pretty cool huh? :) THAT is what took me the most time i think.
well that's all i guess... 40 something layers, 6hours of work... thanks Blu3angel for providing me the link of nat's tutorial when the fire was already made :p and gat for the final check, even if i didn't change anything in the end (i can't put 50 bullets cases, her guns are .50 Desert Eagles, no submachine guns lol)
EDIT--> after few PM of people complaining, i made the blurred version the official one. more realistic heh...
I'm not a fan of red, yet the combination you bring for this one is simply nice. The fire is a little bit overdone, but overall is looking neat. I particularly love the atmosphere this one brings. Good job.
Now this wall I like. Red can be a very hard color to work with and you played it out very well in this wall. The scan and the fire go together nicely and you didn't have the fire completely engulf the character. Not too sure what I think about the cross in the background but still this is a nice piece of work.
A work of perfection - some slight pixellation around the edges but forgivable because the rest of the wall is quite compositionally good. she's got quite a forboding eye on you, there :P
The tattoo looks wonderful. I must admit though, i like the version with the motion blur more. the cross looks a little.. grainy (scanned-from-manga-style grainy) but again, forgivable.
All the elements of the wallpaper are merged perfectly, and the color scheme is very "burning".
However, the flames texture is a bit too smooth compared to the scans.
You did a good work, but I wonder what she's shooting at... ;p
Sweet wallpaper! Jo looks so kickass with the firing guns and the flames, which are very well done by the way ^^ The cross is also nicely done, lovely textures, it looks realistic
I love how you draw in everything...XD like me!
anyways, yeah the fire looks nice..and the recoloring is awesome too! ..For some reason i didn't notice this wall was made by you until i read your shout..
But really nice blend and drawing of tatoo..hehe i love that part. and you really love red don't you?
To be honest, i wasn't gonna fav it..because i know nothing about this series. but reading how you went through the trouble of drawing everything and stuff..meh...i'll fav it.!
Also, i thought i might be a little too conceited if i didn't give it some attention
C: great work.!
PS..in six hours...wow...i won't be able to finish something like this in six hours..o.o
The composition and blending is seriously marvelous. Love the tatoo and incoming fires on that cross...
I think the fire below and the over redness of the wall can use a little more work but whatever this is one of the best bakuten walls I have seen.
Awesome just awesome, love the fire effects and stuff and has a nice load of detail on it. again it reminds me of revi. altoguh its afully different person. nice one ^^ +Fav
