This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Well, it seems that, after many weeks, my long awaited dark style has made a come back, originally, this project started out as some abstract art but ended up being a wall.
(please not, most of my abstract art turns into a wall lol) Well, I did a LOT of editing on the scan, although you can't see much on the wall..I did. Hope you enjoy...don't get too scared now ;)
P.S. I remembered to sign my wall, YAY, sorry lol...I always remember about this AFTER I have submitted the wall.
This is a very cool concept for a wall, I like what you did to the character image (especially the trail of tears), but there are some issues. I don't understand why you put that thick border around the outside, it kind of distracts for the grunge background. The text is good, but it's a bit hard to read, try to make it stand out more. The BG is good, but the uniform color takes away from it a bit, try adding some low-opacity color layers or some blurred vectors to add a touch of accent and color. Overall this isn't a bad wallpaper at all, and it can be a lot better.
Wow, that's really... dark. My favorite part about this wall are the dark circles you put under the character's eyes--it gives them a very haunting look. The white border stands out too much and detracts from the dark atmosphere of the wall. Also, it looks like that portion of white wing at the bottom came out of no where. Still, this is one of the best dark walls I've seen.
Love the way the character is blended into the grunge, it feels like it's swallowing him. I think it would look better without the border though. All in all a very depressing wallpaper. That's a good thing ;)
Wow.. this wall is really dark, sad, and depressed.. =_= but i found that he's eyes are really scary yet good.. i like what you did on the tears.. hm.. the white border is a little stand out.. >_> can be a little lighter.. other than that.. it's a great wall! XD
Its good...but it seems something is missing.
I like the grunge background and the whole dark ( emo-ish) feel to it.
But in the original image the wings were so beautiful and I feel that you can't see them in this wall.
The wings give the image a mythical aspect and by not including the wings it just seems so bland.
I also would prefer if you didn't have the lined border, personally it doesn't go with the whole image.
but its still good work.

I like this idea with angel from Shining Tears very much.
I was writing as early as elsewhere, but THIS IS THE GREATEST ANIME STYLE PICTURE EVER in the point of my view.
Genial artwork (as background in my mobile phone, by the way) and of course it must be added in FAVORITES !
FIRST OF ALL I must say - this version (I mean "OF SINS AND SHADOWS") is EVEN darker as the precursors.
It´s sad, spectral and brings anxiety.
Great job! Very cool and perfect designed number.
