This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.
Lol Really? Wow You always seem to Surprise me tide-kun. Well hey im going to get some food and think about the nickname i'll make for you *Huggles* Take care Buddy Bai Bai =]
Okay, this time I'll start from the end. I didn't know how to name this baby, really, but I came up with this (there is a little spoiler in the title ;)) The profles of Kaede and Asa are vectorized from the opening sequence (note to self: vectorizing blurry caps from japanese R2 DVDs = frustrating). The silhouette of Rin is also from the opening.
The first concept was slightly different - it was only the girls' vectors and a background with some effects. But it felt empty. So I've added big shadows behind the vectors. Next in line, I came up with the silhouette. Still empty-ish. After nearly an hour of experimenting what to do, I've reworked the shadows into flame-like auras and added bleeding eyes for fun. But it made an interesting effect. Though, the thick contours didn't blend with the atmosphere, making the wall kinda 'Azumanga-ish'. So, to make them not visible, I've cleared the whole background and made it black instead. Well, it made the canvas look even more empty than before. Adding text and other things didn't work. So I've expanded the flames a little, and made the two-colour scanlines 'cracked' in the middle to split the image into two halves. The outcome was good, so I stopped mending that moment, not to break anything again. So there you have it. Not the finest piece of art, but it makes a cool, contrasting wallpaper.
Hope you'll like it. Oh, and one more time...

Yeah i agree with most of the above comments. the blood and shuffle don't really mix well. the colours a a little plain with a background that does not look very good, in other words too plain.
the blood really does spoil the picture.
The faces do look a little pale for the image but not to bad its still a pretty good wallpaper. pretty gloomy which is a pretty nice choice i like the idea of the bloody tears but they dont really looks real enough maybe if the tears were more of a solid stream then it would pop out more in the image. the blood and shuffle kinf of mix even though the series was a romance series because there were quite a few really sorrowful momments in the series. i also have an idea were you were going with this wallpaper so i say you did a pretty awsome job with it, a little more work and i think it will be amazing
I think you could make the blood theme work eventually (psycho-kaede and all), but this is not it... Perhaps try one of those 'single line/stream tear' idea that is shaded red. The faces also seem somewhat off, but that might have been what you intended as the color them (not sure). Also... kaede's hairband just looks too weird to me :( Perhaps try to add more shading? It kind of looks like the hairband pieces were taped on ^^;;
Anyhow, the glow effect on the silhouette was a nice idea and the images looked cleanly cut :D Will we be seeing a newer version?
The pale faces and bloody tears kinda make it a little distasteful. You put a lot of effort into it, it seems, but you might want to take your time with the next one. Their necks are strange and look morphed as well as Kaede's band is red, not orange.
With the blood it mixes up with realness... By the wall... And detail fact it it is bad but in.empty. insufficient type of color and it is visible and.anyway it does not mix

There was a crooked man,
who walked a crooked mile.
He carried a crooked cane,
and wore a crooked smile.
He followed a crooked path,
to his crooked house,
Where waited his crooked cat,
Clutching a crooked mouse.
