This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

This here is perhaps one of my better attempts.
I am not too sure which one to submit, so if you like any of them in particular, please do comment on them too.
And if there is a fav from any of the pieces, please feel free to fav this one as well, just to you know... as a token.
Anyhow, this took around a month, was working this on and off, looking for the right technic to blend it in, shifting away from overused circles, tried a bit of others. Tried a pixel stretching like technic, played with gradients and so on and came up with this final product. actually, this barely has any circles.
A bit of info would be that it is actually kinda badly done, the girl was already jagged due to the compression from the scan, I dunno how that does it, but I could seriously use the original scan if everyone has it, the one I have is clearly enlarged or saved at low file size.
Background was inspired by "BodyRock" by Moby, cause somehow the first thing I had to think about was instability, and the messy patterns are somewhat a product of that, the whole background truly met its finish when I received a copy of Gundam Best Collection of Songs, and a special Eurobeat short version that caught my fancy, the beat was really pumping and for some strange reason, it inspired me to touch on a gundam wall.
Hence the one you see now, was originally intended to be gundam themed. But I already rendered the girl beforehand, cause my attention was caught on Murakami's art. Talk about conflicting personal issues.
Ok, now, I like to dedicate this to all of those who are in my team for the Battlegrounds project, as well as upcoming competitors, my utmost respect and of course, thanks for making me wanna go for it again.

Cool background, you are right the scan does look a bit jugy but only in the lines otherr then that its not so bad. Man you realy do whore off those circles don't you? XP Anyways, the background is awsome, I realy like it.
Man now ya have to tteach me how to do this kinf of BG. I'm usually not too much in the total abstract, but when i see your walls, makes me want to interest more about it.
All the lil "+" on the upper part reminds me of the Hewlett Packard ads ROFLMFAO

Im love the bg, and yeah htere is almost non of the cirlces! ^_^' Lol. i like the character, and well yeah i guees the edges are a bit to pixeld ubt in all its very clean, and clear! the bg brushes are very uwsom!! and the abstract bg "blue on in the main bg" is very neatly done GOOD JOB!! gosh i love ure walls, and designs! Keep it up i guess...

Wow, this wallpaper contains many great designs. The background really has some of those great colours with the addition of those really techno like designs. Maybe the the word "techno" doesn't really fit it, but I don't have any other terms to compare it to. I really like the rendering you did. The whole contrast is great and the perspective of it is really great, (hence), position all of your materials that was use to make this spectacular wallpaper in the right spot. All in all, it's a really nice wallpaper. Keep up the good work.
Very...nice... scan. *_* It´s pretty and clean. And I love the background(s)... all of them! I think the background is kind of dynamic. There are so much nice little details/patterns... I like especially the shining curly stripes/circles and the +s. The colours of the background are great, there are both dark and light colours... nice. I like the text.
I prefer the ones with the green background :)
