This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Well, this is a fairly old wall, but still a definate favourite of mine. I used a lot of blending methods in Photoshop 7, such as using the pattern generator and changing layer types. This started out as more of an experiment but it turned out a lot better then I expected.
This wallpaper is also on my Anime Online account to avoid any discrepancies. It also used to be on my Minitokyo account, however, I've now left that site so it can't be found there anymore.
Lovely work. Sad and somewhat depressed but still romantic. The girl looks so innocent. I like that. I like the feathers and text. I would like if the hair of both characters would be darker but if itâ??s the way you want it then it looks just fine.
Wow! A beautiful sepia grunge! I really like the way you included so many elements in the background. Their color ties them together. I looked at the piece for a long while, its just fun to see what you put in every little corner! :)
Your experiment turned out great I should say. Really nice work on the blending of layers. Having a sepia tone and color for the wall turned out great. It gives it an old romantic feel to it. You could have gotten away w/o the text but it looks okay there with the falling feathers. I like your wall!
It seems so... picturesque in a way... The brown tones really make it look like the tragedy the series gives the feel too, especially with that image for Angel Sanctuary. You can really feel the sadness and tragedy behind the image. I'd say that your experiment was a definite success. Even the swirls go, and usually people have a tendency to mess things up with it. A very detailed piece, but a beautifully done one ^_^
