This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

the process order of this wallpaper was, i chose the picture, i painted the water, then i made/altered a bg into it
the water i painted with my tablet at the time [when it worked RAWWR~!] this was actually an original experimentation idea. i did not look at any tutorials for making that water. nor do i think that there are any tuts out ther for making this kind of water [well i dont look at tuts so i wouldnt know heh] lets just say its a combination of round brush scatter, lots of smudging, distortion, blending options, and opacity variations. which means theres lots o water layers because to create the depth of field, more layers were needed. it umm came out oks :D
tho i must say the bottom of it looks kinda funny and a little too blurry >_>, but hey it was an experiement~!
oh and another thing, i usually HATE PURPLE [still do, its so fruity]. Thus i tried to work with what i hate hoping it would force me to cooperate and thus purple was the only color variation i made of this.

The scan is pretty and nice and I think it goes well with the background... The background is quite blurry, so I think it would look better if the scan was a little blurry too...

Oh! Nice Job. Chikage is one of my favorite between the 12 sisters. Chikage is the eldest sister and has mysterious magical power. I like the effect of the water splash. It feels like that Moses is splitting the red sea...XD

Really good job on the water, I actually assumed that it was painted. The scan fits the background very well and I love the color (purple is one of my favorites).
