This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Ok, here comes my wall for the TB contest.
I have found these scans one is here from MT, the other one is from
Animepaper. The first scan from Animepaper is cuted out in the normal way.
The second scan isn't cutted out. I have only erase freely some parts of it.
Then i have overlayed it on the other scan.
The bg is made freely from two different brus sets and some selfmade brushes.
I was thinking a grungy bg would fit the scan the most.
But its only my thinking ;P
This wall has tkaen one Hour of my day, not more so its not a thing i would call
a great work, i's only made by feeling and hearing some music.
Don't wonder that this wall will be shown at Minitokyo too, i have an acc there.

Aw,love the style in this wall..look like its painted also..really cool effect:) caotic fantastic wall:) every thing is caotic and its perfect!!:) really great..add this as fav:)
Funky...dirty...like christina aguleria duuurty
i think the picture on the right could be scooted a little to the left to kinda overlap and blend in, because right now it just sticks out
and i noticed you reused/mirroed the white streaks/dirty stuff around the center..which kinda looks funny...yah could have at least resized em or merge parts of them together

Far to busy in the back, but I love the character so it is good. But in my opinion way to much in the backround, could have had a much better effect with shadowing or even a dark backround.
This wall definately fits the character very well. I enjoy what you have done to spice up the scan. You did mention that you only spent an hour on it and frankly it shows. You reused some of the backgroun in other sections of the wall and I understand that it saves a lot of time. It could have been even more chaotic and unruly if you had spent more time. But overall, if this equals one hour of your work I would love to see you actually get deep into a wall and take up some time.
The backgrount is so detailed, it lookd like those modern art paintings.. with ink and stuff.. but it's more violent. and subtile at the same time... it is an amazing effect you did with this image as a scenario.
You dont know her name, thats okay i didnt either untill i saw episode thirteen or fourteen! i think her name is Paula, i dont know the last name! SRRY!

I am amazed you have used the busy background so effectively. I am beginning to understand how tough that is.
I am about to commence watching the T.B. series...this wall has put me in the right mood.
Thank you
Al
