This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
Nah, I don't want new ones I need these ones to break in more. But my left thumb is really hurting right where the knuckle is >.< I guess I have some bad habits on my left hand.
** An entry for the Vectorness Challenge June 06 with cyberpunk/sci-fi theme **
After a long scan search journey, I can't help but to settle with this scan which is an interesting render of the Swordfish II Mono Racer - Spike's famous 'pink' aircraft from one of my all time favourite anime Cowboy Bebop.
The aircraft was fairly simple to vector and so were the elements in the backgrounds.
The biggest challenge was to keep the background simple and clean to keep the aircraft (or Spike XD) as the main focus of the wall - which is why I intentionally left the top left corner almost blank because it's already busy everywhere else. And took out a lot of small tech widgets on the background - too distracting.
Fully done in Illustrator, this is my first techy/futuristic wall but I think I will make more in the future because those tech widgets are actually really fun to make :)
Btw, ever wonder how a 'pink' aircraft can look so cool in anime? Enjoy! :)
I absolutely adore everything you did with the wall.
Manipulating the scan and everything...
it's brilliant.
This is definetely my next desktop. x)
GREAT job.
I love it xD
specially coz spike's there xD everything flows in nicely and i love the colors that were used
tho i think the swordfish could use a bit of shine but all in all good job :D
Ooh lala...I like the abstract and techy thing going on here =O THere are still jagged lines but I won't count that against your wall =P The contrast and text are just perfectly laid, however, I'd like to see more of a 'juicy' background =x (If you get what I mean XD) Besides that, I don't really have anything to say +Fav
an astonishing job!!work for the scan is quite simply brilliant as well as the image of spike.the background is well also, measurements on the sides = good idea, just like the city..nice colors too.
it's definitively my next desktop.i like it very much^^
Wow, I don't know what to say! It was beautifully done, and has a nice clean look. Also a lot of space for icons! XD Although it's so simple, it's full of different elements that make it so that you notice things you've never noticed in the wall before. Great job!
Really cool and hip, i like the muted colors of the bg and the shocking pink of the swordfish as the main focus. I'm not sure the drop shadow on the swordfish was needed but that's really minor. The smoke from the ship is a nice touch as well. Really well done and it get's a fave~
I really like how the Swordfish looks, but really impressed me was what you did with the background. It seems so random with the circles and stuff, but somehow it definately helps. I especially like the picture of Spike. He matches the background so well, yet he still stands out with his simplicity. Anyway, amazing wallpaper. Good job.
I love this wall.
it is nice and simple; not too hectic and not too empty.
the spike vector is awesome. go go bebop~
overall very appealing and easy on the eyes.
