This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
** An entry for the Vectorness Challenge June 06 with cyberpunk/sci-fi theme **
After a long scan search journey, I can't help but to settle with this scan which is an interesting render of the Swordfish II Mono Racer - Spike's famous 'pink' aircraft from one of my all time favourite anime Cowboy Bebop.
The aircraft was fairly simple to vector and so were the elements in the backgrounds.
The biggest challenge was to keep the background simple and clean to keep the aircraft (or Spike XD) as the main focus of the wall - which is why I intentionally left the top left corner almost blank because it's already busy everywhere else. And took out a lot of small tech widgets on the background - too distracting.
Fully done in Illustrator, this is my first techy/futuristic wall but I think I will make more in the future because those tech widgets are actually really fun to make :)
Btw, ever wonder how a 'pink' aircraft can look so cool in anime? Enjoy! :)
Very good wallpaper :) I think that it deserves an A!
The colors are nice and the general composition of the wall is really creative :)
I like it !! Keep up the good work

Awesome job! I really love the simplicity of it all. Very clean and smooth, just how I like it. You really pulled the whole thing off amazingly. I do kind of agree with Tatekane in that the Swordfish could use a little shine but all in all, it still looks fantastic! ^_^
Hot Spike! XD Awesome design work. I love the way you integrated everything, although the circles in the middle feel a bit overwhelming, mostly 'cause there are a lot of them... and yeah I agree with tates about a bit of shine for the swordfish, but everything else really looks terrific! XD
I love this one... Good design and style. Though, very wants to see more details in aircraft. With your skills, you could be add some new details on this scan.
Anyway, good work!
This is awesome, I love the colors and all the geometric designs. I love how you chose to make the airplane your focal point instead of the character, which is what wallers usually do. Great job, love this wall!
Great wallpaper. I think the background is a bit busy, and I do wish the swordfish was it's regular red colour. But other than that this is a very original and well done wallpaper. Good job!
I love this wallpaper. Not just because it matches perfectly with my visual theme but it's simple yet complex design hit me on the right spot. Haven't fav'd anything in awhile but this one, without a doubt, deserves it. :)
