Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

Rei from Neon Genesis Evangelion

So, I told a friend of mine about this new "Live Trace" function in Illustrator CS2 (traces images in "one click"). He was like "Cool, but do you really use it?" And it kinda hit me, "No, I don't..." So just to prove myself I've done this with just that feature.

I think Rei looks quite OK, but I think I'll stick with manual tracing in the future... Here's the scan I used.

The background is just a shitload of brushes and some text. But why make it harder than it really is? ^^

Maybe you won't use this wallpaper on your desktop much, but when your friends ask how good the "Live Trace" function is, you can show your friends this wall ^^

First to comment! It's a good wallpaper... not too many stuff and just nice to have some icons in it. colour is good... bg is good... And I think the live trace works well! Good on you!

I like it, its good to see walls with some text in them. Its diffrent and you made it using a new function which is cool. The arrows are good and the flow is nice.

I'm not a big Eva fan myself, but I like Rei, and this wallpaper caught my eye. I like it, it looks nice, the blue scheme works really well.

Vectoring of the scan is great and I like the colours of the wallpaper. Nice work with the background design too :) I think there could be more different kind of blue tones in the background in order to made the wallpaper look more interesting.
