Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
Pointed out. Every color will have a strong "leader"card and we need for the black and green still. So her? I recommended Rena Ryuuga, but majority will decide.
Its a vector and patterns so it'll probably look like sh*t on the thumbnail. K, so, I started working on this this morning and finished it well, right now. I even skipped lunch...I gotta stop with the obssesive photoshopin' or I'll REALLY go anarexic. Anyway, I was walking in the city yesterday with a friend, and I happened to see a guy wearing a suit like the one I gave spike. I thought it looked freaking cool and it was meant to be vectored, and I was right. I love how it looks on spike. The words are from my other wall "fight club", I didn't put much effort into these because I only wanted it to look pretty, so don't look for meanings.
I vecotored Spike and used the text to create a pattern for his suit. I forgot to make his eyes, and when I noticed it, I thought it looked better eyeless. The rectangle on the back..well I originally wasn't going to do the whole cityscape thing, but I combined both ideas and I liked how it came out so I left it. Before any wiseass mentions it; Im well aware that the city on the right is the exact same one as the one on the left, it was done on purpose because I was looking for good balance, plus the missing side of the city is a bit bland. I used a stock from stockxchng for the city. Coincidential enough, I was lucky to find a stock of Manhattan which is where the suit was first spotted. :3
title and random lyrics on the bars comes from Folly - The City is Drowning.
These abstract walls really fit the style of Cowboy Bebop. I love the vector of Spike and I agree, his suit does fit him quite nicely. It seems there have been a lot of walls in this style showing up lately, but this one really caught my eye. +fav
Not sure if it's just me but the center box seems slightly off-centered to the right - prolly an optical illusion caused by the decor line on the right touches the box where the other one doesn't.
Another wiseass comment from me would be the dark patch on Spike's head where there's no dark patch anywhere else.
Still, incredibly cool wall with plenty of character and style -plus- excellent vectoring and nicely put together - gotta love this wall!
When i saw this on AP, i was gonna run over to make a comment on MT (they generally get more noticed there) but MT is slow loading :(
You're an interesting waller in that your style is very diverse. I'm not such a fan of the arrow on the left, but i quite like the bar on the right, with the circles and leaves cutting in; though it would've been cool to use a non-PS shape, but w/e i'm the queen of doing that in vector walls, so i won't criticize.
I kinda wish spike had eyes. :( I like the texture behind him, though, and (of course) the text-suit. Leave it to manhatteners to have such a funky sense of style.
Overall very cool (regardless of how critical my comment is) and gorgeous vectoring as always. hmmm. i'm on the fence as whether to fave or not, so why not *favs* XD
The color and the simplicity of the wall is very nice. The words in the suit is very cool , a nice creative touch. I get the point of not having the eyes but it does look a little off. If you added them it would look good. Other than that this is a fantabulous wall.
Very cool job, I can really appriciate a wallpaper that makes full use of text like this one. Great use of colors and layout as well, I'm really enjoying this one, so I'll add it to my favorites!
I like the presentation of the wallpaper. I especially love the use of the text everywhere on this one. Just.. what happened to Spike's eyes? xD Would have liked it better if they were there, but I'm not really complaining much.. Nice work!
Really amazing concept, and well executed. I love the city skyline at the bottom. I agree with a couple people that Spike having eyes would be better. I'm not too keen on the horizontal bars at the top (the arrow, and the one with circles) because it's kind of distracting, since you already have the horizontal set cityscape at the bottom. If anything, I'd at least make the arrow-bar connect to the center rectangle, to make it match the circle bar thing of the right side.
Eh, I hate criticizing since I have yet to submit a paper, but anyway I do really love it. +Fave.
It's an amazing wallpaper. Wow, only a day, takes me a week to get a full concept, and that's if I don't have to vector the image. Anyway, It's not exactly my cup of tea, but the idea behind it is cool to say the least. I like the text jacket even as wierd as the concept may seem. I think it's the overly-simple colors used that takes away from me liking it, but that's just a personal preference. Very nice job....only a day...

Damn, you have skills. It isn't at all simple like people say, at least in my eyes. It's so complicated but it's so easy on the eyes at the same time. This is fucking stylish. It's original, too. It's a well-deserved favorite for me.
And the fact that you skipped lunch for this really shows your dedication, I appreciate that. :3
