Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
I really wanted to try out grunge and fantasy since I don't think I've done either. The reason it's entitled "Elemental Infection" is because you'll see some representations for different elements like wood, water, air, ice and such, and they seem to be getting infected by some sort of virus, which is represented through the grunge work. The girl is also getting infected. I'm sorry if I the wallpaper doesn't fit the girl at all. I haven't watched Shingetsutan Tsukihime yet, and I just wanted a very high quality scan.
Please excuse my grunge work for now, as this is my first try at it. I really like how I made the texts though. smiley This just includes lots of brush work using PS default brushes and some brushes from DeviantArt, different blending modes, and a couple of stock photos from www.sxc.hu.
45 layers. Took about 8 hours in 7 days (in the middle of homework! smiley).

Oh i just love how the colors are surrounding the character. the brighter colors make me think they are overpowering the darker colors. amazing job. another favorite of mine.

Noir:"But still... the reason why i like this wallpaper is... because it's Len ^-^"
Those are a lot of brush layers you used there. I could praise it's mood all day long due to it's undoubtable atmosphere, but do you see it after the full view? Pixels! On the edges! I didn't expect that. Here is my advice on how it might have arisen and what to do.
You have likely duplicated the character layer to add some blur/contrast/feather/decay effect.
Now the edge pixels' opacity is no longer linear, it takes another characteristic. And the pixels show up!
Solution:
Have one master render that will hold the transparency mask (lock it) and everything that changes the colors on the render surface shall be joined using the Create Clipping Mask command. This way, the edge pixels won't get corrupted no matter what you do later.
Nice work with brushes. the background is just too good. and after checking the scan .. my eyes kinda bulge out .. you did a terrific job with the background

Great work on this wallpaper! I love it, I'm going to add it to my favourites.
I think the scan fits very well with the background, the girl looks sad, and depressed and the background colors match pretty well with that, brownish, blackish. And then on the bottom it's glowing, and it looks like she's coming out from some portal or something.. lol. excellent work.
