Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
My suck wall for the IIDFWP vs. TLM battle, this is my original version I submitted for the battle. I'm submitting this one instead cuz this is so what I wanted to do in the beginning but I got lost along the way. Though this is one is still lacking in so many ways I like it a lot better at least. I decided to do Astro Boy mainly because of Chemistry's song Astrosexy: Now or Never. Not at all a good reason, huh? If we ever revist this challenge again Grave of the the Fireflies which I thought of wayyyyy later, here I come T___T (well I don't know if that's pre-90's either) Anyway bash v1 and this one too if you like~
You know, I think I like this version better too, although the character scan is a lot more noticeably jaggy. Apart from maybe a tiny bit more detail on the cityscape, I think it looks nice :)

I think the low resolution scan really detracts from this wallpaper. It might have been worth smoothing the lines a little to reduce the jagged edges. When it's small, it's not always noticeable, but since there are so few lines, the jaggedness is really apparent. Nice composition though.
Yes, the resolution of the character is low, but the idea is nice(maybe the clouds are a bit too realistic, comparing them with the rest of the bg). Good job.

As a whole the wall is nice, the bg is great. but the scan is just ruining it for me. you should vector it, it would look awhole lot better and it shouldn't be that hard. something simple like that should only take an hour or two.
I'm not a really big fan of Astro Boy, but otherwise this wallpaper is just fine. Good job with it. I would definately reccommend it to any Astro Bay fan.

It's good that you featured Astro Boy, it used to be a favorite anime of mine back when I was smaller.
It does have a low resolution, but it's still a good idea. It's not your fault that astro boy is an old series so the images are a little less resoluted.

overall use of blue throughout the wall is very well done.
I like what you did with the lighting in this one. Very nice image manipulation, there. The wallpaper itself has a lot of bright points amidst a dark backdrop, and I would have liked to see this one a little bit more uniform, but otherwise kudos to you, chum, I think you nailed it.
I've never really liked this series, Astroboy, and it's quite rare to find the wallpaper, so congrats you made one ^^
