Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!
I really thought that these two scans from Saiyuki (submitted by kowaishoujo) I found in AnimePaper's scans section went well together. Dredging up my old photomanipulation skills, I decided to take it a step further, since this is one of my favourite yaoi doujin pairings. I am really happy with how the figures blend into the black background. I fiddled with the flower petals for a long time, but in the end I avoided vectoring them in an attempt to keep the texture from the original scan as a base for the other textures I overlaid onto them. I may try to vector the whole image in the future for a remix of this wall, but that will take a long time to get through, so I don't expect anything soon.
Ooh smexy - I love these two, they never disappoint!
Black, white and red combo really does wonders, doesn't it?
Love the simplicity. I'm tempted to see a title on the 1/3rd rule power point on the bottom right hand side.
Somewhat glad you didn't vector it because as much as I love vector works, Kazuya Minekura's works are really hard to vector >_<
Anyhoos, well done for 2nd wall!
I really like the color scheme used on this wallpaper. The red, white,& black bring out the line detailing in the characters, and the flower petals add to the emotion the paper is trying to convey. Great work.
I've never seen Saiyuki before, but I love this wallpaper. The darkness pulls you in, and you are rewarded with a beautifully edited scan and flower petals that lead your eyes around them. The composition on this is beautiful, and I love how it pulls your eyes where they need to go. Excellent job!
The two images really do mesh well - nice choices! I tend to avoid walls with added text (titles, logos, poetry, whatever), but it's so subdued in this piece that the "X" rather enhances the whole. I like the size of the petals, too - more "leafy" and robust. Nicely done.
I like the petals that float in the wallpaper. They are very nice. I think they are petals of rose, aren't they. I love the picture of character. It looks great. I like Hakkai. Thank you for sharing your wallpaper.
I have to make a not to finish this manga someday...Anyway, very nice, its almost hard to tell that the image was composed from two different scans, and I love the petals, they have a little texture to them and it makes them look quite nice.
